Hailey Bieber is always tressed to kill. The model turned beauty entrepreneur is a mood board staple, constantly serving us with major hair inspo. If you’ve been following Bieber for some time, you know that her most sought-after ‘do is the slicked-back bun. While the look has been around for decades, Bieber helped popularize the low-lift style in recent years, which also sparked the “clean girl” aesthetic. If you haven’t seen the coiffure with your own eyes, it’s reminiscent of a ballet bun without the donut and with a bit more edge. 

Bieber’s longtime hairstylist, Jen Atkin, previously told Vogue that she uses a “dab of treatment mask or conditioner” with the help of a “barber brush” to achieve the ultra-sleek hairstyle. Bieber has rocked the look on the red carpet and while running errands in Los Angeles and New York City, proving its a timeless and versatile look. 

When she’s not donning the bun, Bieber experiments with length. In 2023, she debuted a dramatic chin-length bob, which she often styled with flipped-up ends or shabby but chic waves. She then grew out her strands to a shoulder-length lob before adding in chest-length extensions and a chocolate color in 2024. Since welcoming her and husband Justin Bieber’s first child—a son named Jack Blues—in August 2024, Hailey unveiled another major hair change: light hair for fall. Hailey—whose natural hair is a medium-dark brown, despite being blonde most of her life—showed off honey-colored strands via Instagram in September 2024.
