Zoe Jackson
Born: March 28, 1982
Everyone wants to know what it’s like to be Samuel L. Jackson’s child and though Zoe hasn’t given too many interviews, she’s talked about some of the famous people she met in her younger years. She detailed one interesting interaction in a short video for the New York Times in 2012. “I was about three years old. My parents took me to a party. And this kind of Albert Einstein-y looking dude scooped me up and ran away with me,” she recalled. “And I ended up hanging out with this bizarre dude for, like, three hours at this party, and it ended up being Kurt Vonnegut. All I remember about it is this guy having a lot of really interesting, strange jokes. I thought it was cool because I ended up as an adult reading all of these Kurt Vonnegut books and being very excited about it.”
Zoe graduated from Vassar College with a degree in Psychology but found herself in the entertainment industry like her parents. She even had the chance to work with him when she directed the 2013 Funny or Die short called Everything Is Samuel L. Jackson’s Fault. Jackson spoke about his only daughter in a 2009 interview for The Guardian, saying, “Our daughter, Zoe, 27, is like us in that she has a strong will, work ethic and sense of self.”
While Zoe has credits to her name that include an early acting role and multiple credits as a production assistant, the majority of her work has been producing television shows. She may be Samuel L Jackson’s child but Zoe made a name for herself in the reality TV world working as a producer on hit Bravo series like Project Runway, Chopped, Chopped Junior, Top Chef, and Top Chef Amateurs. In 2021, Zoe and the RuPaul’s Drag Race team won the Emmy for Outstanding Competition Program.
