What’s the meaning behind the “Take Two” by BTS lyrics?

What’s the meaning behind “Take Two” by BTS lyrics? “Take Two” by BTS lyrics are an ode to their fans, known as ARMY. According to the press release, it also marks the group moving onto their second chapter after their decade-long journey as artists. SUGA produced the track while RM and j-hope participated in songwriting. To tease the track, a series of photos from each member’s memorable spot were posted on social media with the words ‘LIGHT’, ‘BEGIN’, ‘SOUL’, ‘TOGETHER’, ‘FACE’, ‘YOUNG’, or ‘STAY’ written on the photos as hints of the lyrics of the song.

There are some homages to their past songs in the single. In the chorus, V, Jin and Jung Kook sing, “Yeah, we never felt so right / When I got you by my side / Along the road, we walked together / Oh, we young forever.” It references two throwback BTS tracks—first is  “길 (Road/Path),” a hidden track from the 2013 debut single album 2 Cool 4 Skool” and “Epilogue: Young Forever” from their 2016 album 화양연화 Young Forever (The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever). 

The references don’t stop there. j-hope raps “Even when the desert becomes the sea, we swim together / Even the lonely whales, we’re singing like them now” referring to the hidden track “Sea” from their album Love Yourself: Her and  “Whalien 52” from 화양연화 (The Most Beautiful Moment In Life pt.2). The whale has become a symbol of ARMY since the release of “Whalien 52” as they wrote the song in perspective of a 52-hertz whale. It represents a metaphor for the alienation from others often felt by young people.

The future looks really bright for BTS and ARMY and their bond will never be separated. “I am so grateful and happy to be with you / Let’s continue to be happy in the future,” they sing with confidence.

What is BTS’ Anniversary?

What is BTS’ Anniversary? BTS’ Anniversary is June 13. The group debuted in 2013 with their first single “No More Dream” off their single album 2 Cool 4 Skool. Each year, the band holds an annual festival called FESTA in their hometown. 

For their 10th Anniversary, the superstar group revealed the FESTA with a short teaser video announcing, “BTS Presents Everywhere.” According to a press release, the slogan holds dual meaning: “BTS’ presents are everywhere” and “BTS are present everywhere.”

What are the BTS members’ solo projects? j-hope was the first to release his solo project with his first full-length album Jack in the Box. He was also the first South Korean act to headline Lollapalooza. The rapper and dancer later released a single “on the street (with J. Cole)” in March 2023.

On October 28, 2022, Jin released the single “The Astronaut” which was co-written by his friends in Coldplay. He later performed the single in Argentina with the British band before enlisting.

On December 2, 2022, RM debuted his first studio album, Indigo, which features Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Tablo of Epik High, Kim Sa-wol, Paul Blanco, Mahalia, Colde, Youjeen of Cherry Filter, and Park Ji-yoon. He was also featured on So!YoON!’s “Smoke Sprite” and Colde’s “Don’t Ever Say Love Me” (다시는 사랑한다 말하지 마)

In January 2023, Jimin collaborated with BIGBANG’s Taeyang on the song “Vibe.” On February 21, 2023, Jimin announced that he will be releasing his first solo album Face on March 23, 2023. The lead single from the album “Like Crazy” peaked at number one on the Billboard 100 chart—the first for a South Korean solo artist. In May 2023, he was featured on “Angel Pt. 1” with NLE Choppa, Kodak Black, JVKE, and Muni Long.

SUGA released his first full-length album D-DAY in April 2023. To promote the album, he also embarked on a sold-out solo world tour. In the week of the release of “Take Two,” SUGA also released “Lilith” with friend and frequent co-collaborator Halsey for the Diablo IV soundtrack. 

V and Jung Kook have yet to release their solo projects. Though, Jung Kook collaborated with Charlie Puth for the hit song, “Left and Right” and also released “Dreamers” as part of the soundtrack for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Why are BTS going to the military?

Why are BTS going to the military?  In South Korea, every able-bodied man must enlist for military service by the age of 30 and serve for 18 to 21 months. Some exceptions were made for men who have served their nation in other ways, such as notable elite athletes or classical musicians.

On October 17, 2022, BTS’ label Big Hit Entertainment announced that the oldest member Jin will enlist in the military via the fan platform Weverse and their official social media platforms. The statement said, “The members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service. Group member Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October. He will then follow the enlistment procedure of the Korean government. Other members of the group plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans.” The company added, “Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reconvening as a group again around 2025 following their service commitment.”

In their 2022 FESTA video, V said, “We could focus on our solo work this time and later when we gather again as a group, that synergy will be like no other. We’ll be better than before.”
