I love getting a wedding invitation in the mail. It’s the chance to celebrate with my friends, wear something fabulous and dance the night away. While I usually have no problem finding a great great, the search for cute and comfortable wedding guest heels often proves to be more difficult.

I typically find myself re-wearing the same pair of heels at every event because I’m not willing to sacrifice my feet for a night of blisters and pain. I love my classic black slingbacks, but sometimes, they don’t match the vibe of the dress I plan on wearing for the event. Or, even worse, the ceremony takes place on grass and I end up puncturing the well-manicured lawn and coating my heels with dirt in the process. That certainly doesn’t seem very romantic!

After texting all of my friends, my sister, and every bride-to-be I know, I’ve compiled a list of tried and tested heels that can withstand an open bar and hours of dancing. If you stick to this list, you can finally be the person who keeps their shoes on for the entirety of the night.

A common factor I noticed among my friend’s preference for wedding guest shoes was a platform heel. Not only are platform heels super trendy right now, but they’ll also give you a considerable height boost without forcing you to stand on an incline. Whether you want a metallic statement shoe or a beachy woven option, a platform heel is always a good bet.

If you don’t want to ditch the traditional heel shape but simply can’t take another evening in stilettos, simply opt for more of a kitten-heel style instead. Kitten heels have a fun vintage look to them and can be more playful, chic and above all comfortable than a pair of traditional stilettos.
