If you’ve ever bought a piece of artwork, only to have it sit in its shipping tube for months on end, you’re not alone. Getting prints, photographs and canvases framed is one of the more tedious home decor tasks. Not only can it be costly, but also the choices seem endless, and after it’s done, you still have to hang everything.
Thankfully, a slew of online resources have popped up in recent years that have a few things in common: they’re affordable, they have an expert on hand for consultations, they offer free shipping and they make the whole process super-easy, down to including the necessary hardware. Scroll down to get the scoop on our three go-to resources for affordable framing online.

Framebridge
This site makes every frame custom and has a super-handy app that allows you to take a picture of your artwork, then preview what the finished product will look like on your wall. Prices start at just $39, and this fall, you can get two of Framebridge’s Instagram minis—essentially framed photos from your feed—for $50 (regularly $39 each; enter “2INSTA50” at checkout, first-time customers only).

Famed & Matted
At F&M, you can choose from custom framing (starting at $59) or express, ready-made frames ($59–$139). With both options, you have access to the brand’s team of consultants, who will work with you through every step of the process, and a new (free!) concierge service allows you to send your artwork in and get framing suggestions, with no obligation to purchase.

Simply Framed
Known for partnering with established artists such as photographer Gray Malin, as well as bloggers including Joy Cho of Oh Joy!, Simply Framed also has a booming direct-to-consumer business. This user-friendly site lets you upload images of your item—anything from artwork and photography to diplomas and textiles—and an on-team expert will get back to you with framing recommendations. Starting prices range from $65 to $500.
