How astrology will affect the 2024 U.S. presidential election
- September 10: The first debate between Harris and Trump
- The Virgo sun will be conjunct Kamala Harris’ natal Pluto and Venus in her fourth house of home and family. This will encourage her to think about “moving to a new house” (potentially a white one).
- However, the Virgo sun also falls in Donald Trump’s first house of self-expression and confidence, calling for a heated debate if they both show up.
- September 17: The full moon lunar eclipse in Pisces
- This lunar eclipse is happening the day before Trump’s scheduled sentencing date. It also in falls in his seventh house of “others”, majorly shifting the way people see him and relate to him.
- October 2: The new moon solar eclipse in Libra
- This solar eclipse lands in Kamala’s fifth house of creativity and self-expression, indicating that she could start to feel more positive and optimistic about her future.
- October 9: Jupiter retrograde in Gemini
- This retrograde period lasts until February 4, 2025. It indicates that political tides are beginning turn, and everyone’s luck will change in a fast-paced and unexpected way.
- October 11: Pluto stations direct in Capricorn
- Pluto retrograde ends at 29 degrees of Capricorn, the most climactic degree in astrology. Pluto first entered Capricorn back in 2008, which means that certain power struggles within the United States—like the housing crisis—are finally reaching a new conclusion.
- This will give us all a chance to find a way for our country to work for “all” and not just “some”. In other words, wealth will be redistributed, which will begin to even out the playing field in the coming years. Capricorn’s energy is all about achievement, but what at cost? It’s important that we put our faith in a leader that works for everyone, not just the top 1 percent.
- November 3: Mars-Pluto opposition
- “When Mars and Pluto oppose each other, it tends to stir up power plays and an over-exertion of energy, anger, and occasionally, violence. This transit signifies the intense emotions that will inevitably be felt in the days leading up to the election,” says astrologer and author of the Zodiac Healer newsletter, Chelsea Jackson. She continues: “The current political systems is being challenged by the first Black female presidential candidate, and this transit represents the significant change that will occur if Kamala Harris is elected as president, along with the intense scrutiny she may face as a result.”
- November 5: Election day
- On election day, the moon will be in Capricorn, squaring the North Node and South Node. Jackson explains: “Capricorn is a sign associated with the government and traditional systems, reflecting the impactful decision the country is making between two incredibly different candidates.”
- Mars will also be in Leo during this time, a placement that both Harris and Trump have in their birth charts.
- November 15: Saturn stations direct in Pisces
- Beginning on June 29, Saturn retrograde comes to an end just 10 days after the election. Saturn is the planet of karma, and because it stations direct right after the election, there could be a major upset that leads to a recount of the vote. This is when the world may ultimately find out who will win the presidential election.
- December 7: Neptune stations direct in Pisces
- Beginning on July 1, the planet dubbed “The Great Dissolver” will help us to see through any illusions or fear-mongering that has been taking place over its five-month retrograde. We will ultimately see a push to turn the “dreams” promised during these presidential campaigns into reality. This could also indicate a clean-up from any emotional highs or destruction that occurred during this election cycle.
