How many Aquaman 2 post-credit scenes are there?
Spoilers ahead for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. How many Aquaman 2 post-credit scenes are there? According to Twitter, there is one post-credits scene and it happens right at the end and it’s a reference to one of the film’s little jokes. As we said, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom centers on Arthur and Orm rebuilding their bromance after the events of the original movie and a running joke between is how little Orm knows about the outside world.
While discussing what humans eat, Arthur convinces Orm that land folk eat cockroaches as a daily delicacy. Trying one, Orm decides they taste pretty good, actually. In the post-credits scene, Arthur tells Orm to check out a burger place, so he does. Sitting down to eat, he notices a cockroach crawl across the table and decides to add it to his burger, nodding in a satisfied manner as he chews.
But the discourse online isn’t dominated by what’s in it, but rather, what it represents. When a fan tweeted: “I can confirm #AquamanAndTheLostKingdom has ONE post-credit scene,” the replies were along the lines of, “Why is that? Is it just a fun one, or does this potentially lead to something? Cause the DCEU is done now?” Another wrote: “What is even the point? The universe is over 💀” and an even harsher assessment: “It better be an apology from the studio for wasting everybody’s time.” Yikes.
It sounds like Momoa can see the writing on the wall himself; as if his time as the King of Atlantis is coming to an end. “I don’t necessarily want it to be the end… [but] I don’t think it’s really, like, a choice,” Momoa told Entertainment Tonight, explaining that James Gunn and Peter Safran—who were recently tapped to lead the future of DC film projects—want “to start their own new thing up.” He continued: “The truth of it is, I mean, if the audience loves it, then there’s a possibility. But right now, I’m like, ‘It’s not looking too good.'”
He concluded: “I love this character and [I would want to] play it for a long time. I kind of see where I would want it to go. And even in the next 10 years or so, like there’s a lot of cool things they can do. And I do enjoy the role and the world. So, I mean, it just comes down to if people love it.”
