After Big Ed split up from Liz in 2024, he swore he’d never date a fan. Just months later, he broke that rule by not just dating but proposing to a one, after a brief encounter at a meet-and-greet. The 90 Day Fiance star was reportedly “so enamored” that he asked the restaurant manager to MacGyver her an engagement ring.

“It was love at first sight,” a source told Us Weekly. “She’s incredible. She’s his dream girl.” The insider continued, “He was so enamored that he asked the manager to get him a paperclip and he made her a ring out of it. He got down on one knee and she accepted his proposal.”
During an episode of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After, though, Ed explained his hesitation about dating a fan. “Would I date a fan? I have [and] I don’t recommend it. Here’s why: They like Big Ed, the character that I created, and once they get to know the real Ed… it’s not the same. So, dating fans, in general, [isn’t] a good idea,” he said.
“I’m looking for somebody that respects me, that I can respect somebody that’s secure. Being a public figure, it’s really difficult and [is] for a lot of relationships. So I’m looking for somebody that doesn’t want to be in the spotlight, doesn’t want to be on TV.”
Big Ed met Porscha at a meet-and-greet with fans at Capriotti’s, which is a sandwich shop in Plantation, Florida. According to TMZ, which obtained exclusive photos of the proposal, their engagement is “definitely real” despite the short amount of time. His engagement with Porscha comes three months after his ex-fiancée, Liz Woods, debuted her new boyfriend, Jay, on Instagram.
Big Ed and Liz Woods met during the filming of 90 Day: The Single Life and the early stages of their relationship were documented on the series. Over three years, Ed and Liz experienced several highs and lows. They moved in together and got engaged towards the end of 2021, but had broken up around a dozen times until they called it quits for good in 2024.
“I’ve known for a few months that it really wasn’t going to work and I wasn’t really happy,” Ed told Us Weekly at the time. “The taco pasta night where Liz kind of lost it like she’s done before, my sister had never seen that. [My sister] just gave me that look like, ‘Don’t do it.’”
Big Ed rose to fame in 2020 as a cast member on season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, when he got engaged to Rosemarie “Rose” Vega. The couple called it quits after Ed controversially kept his vasectomy a secret from Vega and requested she get an STD test.
Well before the drama of 90 Day Fiance unfolded, Big Ed was married to Sandra Heckman. He was 24 when they tied the knot, and they share a daughter, Tiffany. Not much is known about Sandra, who is affectionately known as Sandy, but TMZ reported that they divorced because of Ed’s alleged infidelity.
