It’s tough to play a real life person— and it’s way harder to play a real life person when they’re right in front of you. Jeremy Allen White had the honor of playing Bruce Springsteen aka The Boss in the new biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. But do they look similar?
White played a version of Springsteen in 1982 when he was recording his lo-fi record Nebraska. During that period, Springsteen experienced bouts of depression due to the subject matter he was writing about.

The “Born in the USA” singer did stop by the set of the movie alot. “I felt really guilty about that because not only did Jeremy have to play me, but he had to play me while I am sitting right there watching him, he said on The Graham Norton Show. “He was incredibly tolerant and generous of me, for which I am grateful. I had a great time.”
Allen told Vogue that he would purposefully avoid watching the movie, but Bruce Springsteen advised that he should. ” I just don’t like watching myself, well… ever, really. I knew I would with this one, at some point, but I was really taking my time. It was actually very funny and sweet—every couple of weeks, I’d get a text from Bruce, like, ‘The movie’s really great. You should see it. You’re really wonderful. If you watched it, you would know.'”
