Chad Michael Murray shot up to fame when he played Jake in Freaky Friday and Lucas Scott on the teen drama One Tree Hill. On the show, he’s had some behind-the-scenes romances and love triangles that were plastered on tabloid headlines. Fast forward two decades later, he’s settled down with the love of his life and his family which he calls “the Pack.” He told Variety how he would travel to movie sets with his family so that he doesn’t miss out on milestones. “I want to be there. Chad Michael Murray started dating One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush in 2003, and proposed shortly after. “I woke up one day and I said, ‘This is the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with,’” he recalled to MTV at the time. The two wed in April 2005, but called it quits five months after the nuptials.
Sophia filed for annulment, citing fraud, but it was denied. They finalized their divorce in 2006. In 2018, Sophia said marrying Chad was “not a thing I actually really wanted to do.”
Chad responded to the claim via his rep. “Chad conducts himself in a completely professional manner and would never marry for any reason but love,” the statement read. “Thirteen years since his divorce from Sophia, he has a very happy family life with his wife and children. He has completely moved on and doesn’t feel the need to engage in this type of behavior.”

In 2023, Foster claimed that he cheated on her with Sophia Bush. “He definitely did cheat on me with her, in like, a pretty egregious way,” she revealed in her podcast, The World’s First Podcast.
Murray addressed Foster’s claim. “It’s not one of those things that I want to go down the road of because there’s just never a winner,” he told E!. “I have more regrets in my life than I care to think about, but I don’t live in the past. I try to move forward every single day and just go, ‘I got air in my lung, life in my step, the will to move forward and the sun’s gonna rise on a beautiful tomorrow.’”
