This isn’t your little sister’s bowl cut. The rounded haircut is chicer than ever in 2024. “When considering a bowl-shaped hairstyle, our minds often go to the smooth and straight look of the ’60s,” says Wes Sharpton, Hairstory lead brand educator and stylist. “It’s truly inspiring to witness this style paired with curls. Curls can sometimes hide the face a bit, and this particular cut helps open up the face more.”
Sabrina Ahmed, Garnier curly hair expert, agrees that round cuts are going to be big in 2024. Go for a full bowl cut or simply add shorter layers to the sides to give the allusion of a round cut.
Curly hair always looks good cropped, either in a pixie or a mini afro. “Short hair is commonly associated with strength, and I adore the juxtaposition between a strong shape and the softness created by curls and waves,” continues Sharpton. “Moreover, these hairstyles excellently showcase the person’s face.”
A shorter curly cut looks especially chic in an asymmetrical style.
Ahmed is loving long layers for 2024, too. She’s also seeing these long layers with wispy bangs if you want to get even more creative!
Wispy bangs look so good with long curly layers. Keep them curly or blow them out a bit for a more ’90s feel.
If bangs are a little too high maintenance for you, Ahmed also likes face-framing layers within the longer strands.
