Meet David Beckham’s Kids With Victoria—1 Is Following In Dad’s Footsteps

Brooklyn Beckham

Born: March 4, 1999

Perhaps the most public of David and Victoria Beckham’s children is Brooklyn. Famously, there were rumors that his then-fiance, now wife Nicola Peltz, and Victoria were fighting, which first circulated when a source told Page Six on August 4, 2022. “They can’t stand each other and don’t talk,” the insider said of Victoria and Nicola’s relationship. “The build-up to the wedding was horrendous.”

According to Page Six’s source, Victoria and Nicola’s drama started after Nicola decided that she didn’t want her mother-in-law to be involved in “any part of the [wedding] planning.” The insider continued, “She wouldn’t clue Victoria in on anything. Communication was minimal.” The source added that the “non-stop petty drama” between Victoria and Nicola has also affected Victoria and her husband David Beckham’s relationship with Brooklyn. “They haven’t spoken to him much in the last few months,” the insider said.

In the Grazia interview, Nicola cleared the air on what actually happened about the alleged dress drama. “Well, I was planning on wearing Victoria’s wedding dress, and I was truly so excited to be able to wear a design that my future mother-in-law created. I thought that was so beautiful and such a beautiful story.” She continued, “Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn’t make it. So, I spoke to my mom and Leslie, and I was like, ‘Well, unfortunately, this can’t happen, so what’s the next step?’ I’ve been a fan of Valentino and their couture for so long. I was really lucky to be able to travel to [the atelier] to try on the dress. That’s really what happened.”

She revealed how she felt. “When I read things that say [things like] I was never planning on wearing a [Victoria Beckham] dress or things like that, it does hurt my feelings. I try not to let it, but it’s just not the truth. It’s just a bit of a bummer when you’re like, ‘Oh, people think that,’ but it’s just not true.”

Brooklyn added his opinions about how the publicity of the drama affected his family. “To be honest, my wife is obviously my first priority and I never want to see her upset ever,” he says. “When people do say ridiculous things, we just talk about it and we just move on. We have each other’s back 100 percent and we just move on together.”

Romeo Beckham

Born: September 1, 2002

The second of David Beckham’s children with Victoria, Romeo Beckham is following in his dad’s footsteps by pursuing a professional football career.

In September 2021, after turning 19, Beckham joined USL League One club Fort Lauderdale CF (renamed Inter Miami II in 2022), the reserve affiliate of his father’s Major League Soccer club Inter Miami—and Lionel Messi’s current US-based team.

In January 2023, Romeo joined Premier League Brentford’s B team for the remainder of the season as part of a short-term loan deal from Inter Miami II where he made 20 appearances in the MLS NEXT Pro league. “I’m very proud and very happy to be here,” Beckham said in a clip posted to the Brentford website. “I came here at the start to keep fit during the off-season. The chance then came to come on loan here, and I’ve never been so excited.”

He added that he was excited to see the difference between US and UK football. “If you look at Brentford as a club, it’s very positive, and it’s a club that is on the rise very quickly. I’m very grateful to be here,” he said.

Cruz Beckham

Born: February 20, 2005

Like his mom, Cruz is following a career in music and knew that’s what he wanted to do from a very young age, making his on-stage debut at just three when he stepped out with the Spice Girls at Madison Square Garden in front of 20,000 people. “I was doing head spins and stuff, which is great to look back at now,” he told i-D magazine. There are clips of it on YouTube still. “We’ve been upstaged,” Victoria said at the time. 

He’s shown athletic prowess, too, even being offered a contract at Arsenal, but music has always been his first love. “I thought I would want to do football and I did that for a bit,” he told i-D, but “at that point, I just decided: [music] is exactly what I want to do.”

Harper Beckham

Born: July 10, 2011

Harper Beckham is David and Victoria’s youngest child and only daughter. Six months prior to her birth, at an L.A. Galaxy fan luncheon, Beckham mentioned that his wife was pregnant once more and revealed that they were expecting a daughter. “Obviously, we’re very lucky to be expecting again, and this is the first time I’m going to say it: It’s a little girl.”

He continued, “We’re still in shock. Obviously, having three boys, you kind of expect another one, so finding out a little girl is in there is surprising, but, obviously, we are over the moon. Our three boys are happy and excited, and Victoria is doing well.”

In a May 2017 interview with Elle UK, Victoria reflected on allowing her children to “figure out what their passions are” and teaching her daughter to place higher value on things other than physical appearance.

“I think it’s getting the balance right, not stifling them and then ending up with a child that rebels,” she said. “I say to her, ‘Harper, it’s not who’s the prettiest girl in the class, it’s not even who is the smartest girl in the class, it’s who is the nicest and most hard-working girl in the class.’ I don’t like her to focus too much on her appearance.”
