Salty, spicy, and tangy drinks will be huge in 2025. “For a long time, we have been used to umami being used to describe food, but in recent times, bartenders have used savory ingredients to bring umami to drinks,” says Jonathan Stanyard, 2024 US World Class Bartender of the Year. “It opens up many opportunities for unexpected flavor pairings and new cocktail recipes.”
Adding ingredients like tomatoes, mushrooms, beets, and even cheese “can create the ultimate savory experience,” he adds. Not to mention, Pinterest predicted Pickle Margaritas to take off next year in their 2025 Trend Report, so expect to see the fermented fruit (yes, fruit!) everywhere next year.
