Ellen DeGeneres is back for one more standup special after she was “kicked out of showbusiness” not once, but twice. The former host of The Ellen Show‘s last hurrah before bowing out on her terms is called For Your Approval, and it chronicles her “people pleaser” tendencies, including her dabbling in plastic surgery.

“I used to say I didn’t care what people thought of me, then I realized I used to say that at the height of my popularity,” she quipped. “If I look older than when you saw me last, it’s because I’m older than when you saw me last, and also I stopped using Botox and filler. I used to do Botox and filler back when I didn’t care what other people thought of me. That’s when I did it.”

The 66-year-old (at the time of writing) was first “kicked out” of the entertainment industry in 1997 when she came out on The Oprah Winfrey Show. “I knew it was a risk telling everyone I was gay because I knew a lot of people didn’t like gay people. If they did, we wouldn’t have needed the parade,” she notes in the special. The second time, she was accused of fostering a toxic work environment at The Ellen Show.
