Florence Pugh Was Once Rumored to be Dating Another Marvel Star—Take a Look at Her Relationship History

Zach Braff (2019–2022)

Zach Braff and Florence Pugh began dating around 2019, and their relationship became public after they were spotted together on various occasions. One of the aspects of their relationship that garnered significant media coverage was the notable age gap between them—Pugh was born in 1996, while Braff was born in 1975, creating a 21-year difference.

This led to some online criticism, which Pugh addressed directly. “I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love, and I would never in my life ever, ever tell someone who they can and cannot love,” she stated in an April 2020 Instagram post. “It is not your place. And really it has nothing to do with you … The abuse that you throw at him is abuse that you throw at me.” 

In 2022, Pugh confirmed that she and Zach Braff had quietly ended their relationship earlier that year. Despite their breakup, the two have remained on good terms and even collaborated on a film project titled A Good Person (2023), which Braff directed, and Pugh starred in.

“We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing because it’s been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on,” Pugh told Harper’s Bazaar. “We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So, we’ve done that. I automatically get a lumpy throat when I talk about it.”

In 2022, Florence and her Midsomma co-star Will Poulter were photographed together while on vacation, leading many outlets to speculate that they were an item. She set the record straight in an Instagram story. “No, Will Poulter and I are not dating. We went to the beach with our friends, who are always about half a meter away from us in every picture, but have been cleverly cut out/ framed out so that it looks otherwise.” She continued, “There’s literally no need to be horrible online—no need. Think about what you write. Think about who it affects,” she wrote.

Charlie Gooch (2023)

In 2023, Florence Pugh and Charlie Gooch were photographed together at an event after the British Fashion Awards. A few months later, they were papped grabbing drinks with friends in March 2023, this time in Rome. Neither of them commented on the relationship publicly, and by October 2023, it was reportedly over.

“Florence and Charlie had known each other for years and things turned romantic at the end of last year,” a source told The Sun. But it hasn’t lasted. Florence’s schedule is so busy and there were other factors at play. She eventually ended it over the summer. She isn’t wallowing though and is doing just fine on her own.”

In September 2024, The Sun reported that Florence Pugh was secretly dating Peaky Blinders star Finn Cole. “Florence and Finn appeared to be very much together and they were having a great time,” a source said. “They kept a low profile at the premiere and party and left out of the back door together and got into the same car. They were there to support friends in the film and seemed keen not to be pictured or seen. Florence and Finn seemed very happy together.”

In her cover story for British Vogue, Pugh said, “We are figuring out what we actually are. And I think for the first time, I’m not allowing myself to go on a roller-coaster. I’m allowing myself to take time to let something evolve and let it be completely real to its core, as opposed to racing into that.”
