Your Eyeglasses Don’t Have to Be Boring—These Are the Hottest Specs for 2025

If you're wearing them even one day a week, glasses are a steady part of your look.

Some people think about glasses very pragmatically, but here’s how I think about it. If you’re wearing them even one day a week, they’re a steady part of your look, probably more so than any of your clothes. So in my view, it’s always worth looking into glasses trends because your specs are worth a little more thought than a rushed decision at your optometrists office or a haphazard Internet purchase.

Do some research. Especially for something like this, trends aren’t everything, but they might help you pick something that will go with the rest of your wardrobe and vibe if you’re feeling lost. It’s not always possible, but if you can, try to go somewhere in person and try them on. Warby Parker has a great try-on program, but plenty of malls and department stores carry huge selections of frames you can test. Go in, take selfies, think about it, and you can always place the order when you’ve come to a researched conclusion.

That being said, there are a few trends worth discussing. Here’s the thing, runways are not the end-all, be-all for trend forecasting. In fact, runways are more like art shows than trend shows, and there’s plenty of inspo in movies, art, and music too. But there was plenty of eyewear worth digging into. One of my favorites is frameless glasses. One of my fashion faves, Recho Omondi of The Cutting Room Floor podcast and other fashion projects, has been blogging her quest to find a pair of glasses, and the frameless glasses she landed on from Gentle Monster totally beguiled me. That, plus some version of exposed frames were on multiple runways in strange fashions. There is, of course, also the bayonetta glasses and all the different variations, which totally reigned supreme the last two years and are going strong.

In addition, there were quite a few John Lennon-esque circular glasses that feel very retro (what doesn’t these days though?)
