Curved shapes have been a significant trend for some time now, and their popularity shows no signs of waning.”

When it comes to the color and texture of couches, we can expect to see soft materials and solid colors taking center stage. “We’ve moved away from teddy upholstery in favor of other soft, textured matte fabrics like corduroy, chenille, and wool,” Heinäsuo adds. “Patterns are becoming less prominent, allowing the focus to remain on the shapes and forms of the furniture.”

If you aren’t the biggest fan of patterns, another type of statement rug may catch your eye. “Non-traditional rug shapes like ovals, irregular outlines, and asymmetrical designs are huge at the moment, and I don’t see this slowing down next year,” Steele adds. “These shapes break away from the predictable rectangular design we see so often, adding interest and movement to a room.”
