He’s just left the building and Jacob Elordi’s Elvis voice is still turning heads. The 26-year-old Australian actor plays Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola’s biopic Priscilla based on his wife Priscilla’s memoir Elvis & Me. With the short amount of time between Coppola’s and Baz Luhrmann’s film Elvis, many fans have compared Elordi’s portrayal of Elvis to fellow actor Austin Butler’s.

Many fans on the internet observed the differences between the two— as Elordi didn’t go to as extreme lengths as Butler for the role. “austin butler rewiring his whole body and voicebox to try and become elvis when the euphoria guy slides into it effortlessly. that’s so funny i,” one person wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). However other fans are adamant about comparing the two as one wrote, “jacob elordi elvis and austin butler elvis are two extremely different performances and i feel like it’s way more interesting to talk about how their different methods fit their respective films than it is to do like, stan wars about it.”

Though the two movies are based on Elvis’ life, Priscilla focuses more on the private relationship between Elvis and his ex-wife. Priscilla was asked what it was like to see her life portrayed in such a way. “It’s very difficult to sit and watch a film about you, about your life, about your love,” Priscilla said, becoming visibly emotional: “Sofia did an amazing job. She did her homework, we spoke a couple of times and I really put everything out for her that I could.”

When asked about the comparisons of both Elvis roles by E! News, Elordi gushed about Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis while also calling out the comparisons. “I think it would be a killer double feature. I don’t know why people are making it a bloodsport returning to the Colesium, it’s f—king absurd.” He also confirmed to Extra TV that he did not approach Butler for advice for playing the same musical figure as him.

So what does Jacob Elordi’s Elvis voice sound like and what does Austin Butler’s sound like? Hear them both below.
