These voices might sound super familiar to you. Kpop Demon Hunters is Sony and Netflix’s latest hit animated movie about three girls who are K-Pop stars to the world, but they secretly hunt down demons to save the world from the wrath of Gwi-ma.
Everything goes well for the girls in the days leading up to the Golden Hanmoon, which will guarantee the world to be free of demons. However, when Rumi’s (a demon hunter who is half-demon) voice starts to disappear, a new threat emerges—a boy group, known as the Saja Boys that is led by the demon Juni. The Saja Boys try to ruin the girl group’s chances at defeating the demons, and Rumi’s heart is confused after learning about Juni’s past and how demons are really treated. No spoilers here, but it’s a heartwarming story for any fan, whether you’re into K-pop or not.
The album and songs climbed the Billboard charts, becoming one of the first soundtracks to do so since Encanto in 2022. With songs like “Golden,” “Soda Pop,” and “Takedown,” even K-pop idols like BTS and Wonho are indulging in the infectious songs.

The movie uses a ton of elements that will make K-pop stans’ hearts flutter, and there are some stars who make cameos in the film with their powerful singing voices. Take a look at the cast below.

Teen Wolf star Arden Cho provides Rumi’s speaking voice, while vocal producer and arranger EJAE provides the character’s singing voice. She’s notably worked on songs for Red Velvet, KARD, NMIXX, LE SSERAFIM and aespa.

Business Proposal actor Ahn Hyo-seop provides Juni’s speaking voice, while singer and producer Andrew Choi provides his singing voice.
“I’ve been a big animation fan since I was a kid, so it kind of intrigued me to be a part of the process,” Ahn told Netflix. “Also, I kind of wanted to give my fans overseas a memorable and joyful experience.”

In an interview with StyleCaster, Audrey opened up about K-pop influencing her childhood growing up and how some K-pop stars like Yeonjun from TOMORROW X TOGETHER looks up to her. “It’s an honor. I feel like I’ve gotten so much love from the K-pop world. The music genres are pretty different, but the fact that there’s a connection there is super sick,” she said. “My favorite K-pop bands are BIGBANG, 2NE1, and Young Turks Club. But I think it’s really flattering that Yeonjun said that. I really appreciate the love and support there—and also from the Korean community in general.”
TWICE members JEONGYEON, JIHYO, and CHAEYOUNG made a special cameo at the end of the film when they sang HUNTRIX’s song “TAKEDOWN.”
JEONGYEON told Netflix, “[KPop Demon Hunters] was the first time just the three of us from TWICE recorded a song together. It was such a special experience. I’m so happy that the voices of the three of us will be heard all around the world, and this song will last forever.”
