If you’ve been keeping up with the Kardashian/Jenner family, you may have already noticed Kylie Jenner’s style evolution. The youngest member of the famous family is known for her sexy, sporty, and sleek looks—when the reality star steps out, you’re bound to see a viral photo from the outing. But lately, her style has taken a turn down a more mature, simplistic avenue. Long hemlines, quiet luxury, and classic cuts have entered the chat. Could Timothée Chalamet have something to do with it?

Now to be clear, I’m not crediting Kylie Jenner’s style evolution to a man or anyone other than Jenner herself. I am, however, simply noting the correlation between Jenner’s style and relationship status. Rumors that Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet were romantically involved started spinning back in April. Since then, the duo has had multiple public sightings including a PDA-infused hard launch at the U.S. Open in September.

After the U.S. Open, Jenner and Chalamet both attended Paris Fashion Week and were seen holding hands as they attended a dinner in matching black outfits. Based on paparazzi photos and their coordinating looks, the relationship seems to be going well.

Changing elements of personal style with a new relationship is not uncommon—Kourtney Kardashian did it with Travis Barker, Megan Fox changed her style with Machine Gun Kelly, and Hailey Bieber even had a style transformation with Justin (though his style could still use some serious work). Kylie Jenner’s style transformation could be a reflection of a personal rebrand. Her outfits used to give off nightclub energy and now she always looks like she is heading to a fancy dinner or formal event. With the popularity of quiet luxury and minimalist fashion, the shift isn’t too surprising. We may be keeping up with the Kardashians but they’re also keeping up with the cultural zeitgeist.

In order to do a full analysis of Kylie Jenner’s transformation, we have to look at Timothée Chalamet’s personal style. His outfits have a wide range and the actor doesn’t stick to any singular aesthetic. On the red carpet, Chalamet is a trendsetter for men’s formalwear. He’s worn a floral halter top, a sequined harness, and a suit jacket with nothing underneath it. His red carpet style is elevated and pushes the envelope of traditional men’s suiting.

Off the red carpet, Chalamet has a much more casual approach to fashion. He is often pictured walking around New York City in a hoodie and Apple AirPod Max headphones. Instead of participating in the quiet luxury trend, his outfits either embody luxury or are just simply quiet. Regardless of the direction, Chalamet has a cool edge to his look.

Before Kylie Jenner dated Timothée Chalamet, she was in a long-term on-and-off relationship with Travis Scott, the father of her two children. Her style with Travis Scott was sporty, edgy, and always sexy. Jenner wore a lot of leather and form-fitting silhouettes during this time period.

It should be relatively easy to tell which Kylie Jenner looks are from before or after her relationship with Timothée Chalamet but if you need a hint, it’s all in the size of the sunglasses. Keep scrolling for every example you need.
