Summer should be fun. Lindsay and Carl’s breakup, no fun. With the end of their engagement also comes the end of Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s wedding on Summer House and the Bravo nuptials that could’ve ben. In case you didn’t know, Lindsay and Carl broke up two months before they were set to marry.
Lindsay and Carl—two cast members on Bravo’s Summer House—started dating in 2019 but broke up after less than a year. They started dating again in 2021 and confirmed their relationship in 2022. “We’re definitely dating!” Lindsay told Page Six in January 2022. “We don’t really talk in labels, Carl and I … [But] we’re very much together. We’re very happy.” They moved in together in May 2022 and got engaged on August 27, 2022. “I was so surprised, I’m still in shock!” Lindsay told People at the time of Carl’s proposal, which was filmed for Summer House Season 7. She continued, “He said, ‘Will you marry me?’ and I said, ‘A thousand times, yes!’ And he said, ‘Hold on, let me get the ring’ and I was like, ‘I don’t care! When should we get married? Now? I’m ready!'”
After less than three years together, Lindsay and Carl broke up and ended their engagement on August 31, 2023. “Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard have called off their engagement. The two were set to get married in November, but Carl told Lindsay he couldn’t move forward with the wedding. The breakup was filmed and will most likely play out on the next season of Summer House,” a source told Entertainment Tonight at the time.
A source also told Us Weekly at the time that Lindsay was “devastated” and “blindsided” by Carl’s decision to end their engagement. “It’s all so raw,” the insider said. “The dust hasn’t settled with it yet.” The source went on to slam Carl for the “mean” way he broke up with Lindsay. “He did call off the wedding on camera,” the insider said.
The source continued, “A normal person who loves someone wouldn’t break up with someone they love on camera. No matter how many problems you may have, you don’t do something like that on camera for the world to see their reaction.” The source also added that Lindsay was “devastated” and hoped that she and Carl “might get back together tomorrow.” The insider also confirmed that Summer House Season 8 had already finished filming, but picked cameras back up to record the fallout of Lindsay and Carl’s relationship. “The cast had already wrapped filming and now they are picking it back up,” the source said.
Lindsay and Carl’s relationship also came two months before they were set to marry in the fall. Read on for what we know about Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s wedding before their breakup on Summer House and who (ahem Danielle ahem) was set to attend their nuptials.
Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s wedding date was set for November 17, 2023, two months after their breakup on August 31, 2023, according to their wedding website.
Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke didn’t have a traditional wedding registry, however, they did have a section on their wedding site, where guests could make a $50, $150, $250 or custom amount donation to their wedding and honeymoon. “GIFT ANY AMOUNT.” the registry section read. “HELP US CREATE OUR DREAM WEDDING AND HONEYMOON EXPERIENCE WITH ANY AMOUNT OF DONATION!”
On their wedding website, Lindsay and Carl explained that they didn’t have a traditional wedding registry because the attendance of their guests was “truly the only gift” they could ever want. “WE ARE HONORED TO HAVE EACH OF YOU IN OUR LIVES AND YOUR PRESENCE AT OUR WEDDING IS TRULY THE ONLY GIFT WE COULD EVER WANT. IF YOU’RE STILL INCLINED TO SEND A GIFT, PLEASE FIND OUR HONEYFUND WHERE YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO OUR DREAM HONEYMOON. WE LOVE YOU AND THANK YOU!” the website read. “XOXO, LINDSAY & CARL.”
Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke didn’t confirm their wedding guests before their breakup. However, it was expected that most of of the Summer House Season 8 cast would be invited. The main cast members for Summer House Season 8 included returning cast members Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batule, Paige DeSorbo, Ciara Miller, Danielle Olivera, and Gabby Prescod, as well as new cast members Jesse Solomon and West Wilson. The cast also included part-time cast members Sam Feher, Mya Allen, and Chris Leoni, as well as guests Kory Keefer and Andrea Denver.
In an interview on Watch What Happens Live in April 2023, Lindsay revealed that she wasn’t sure at the time if she wanted to invite Danielle—her former best friend whom she had a falling out with over Danielle’s concerns about Lindsay and Carl’s fast relationship—to her wedding. “I guess we’ll find out after the reunion,” she said. Lindsay also told host Andy Cohen that she was “hopeful” for a resolution between her and Danielle.
“As far as public[ly] mending our friendship, I think the challenge is that we haven’t really seen each other,” Lindsay said. “From what I’ve heard, she is working through some things in her personal life, and we’re planning a wedding, so I think that just, right now, we’re just on different paths.”
Danielle reacted to Lindsay’s hope for their relationship in her own interview with The Daily Dish. “I mean, it’s awesome to hear her say that, of course. But actions speak louder than words, especially in a public forum,” she said.
Danielle continued, “I’m going through a lot in my life right now, and it would be great to have her,” Danielle said. “But I think I’m going to leave it in her court, because I think I’ve done enough on my end. I’ve said what I needed to say. Time will tell, but I haven’t heard from her, so that, I think, says a lot.”
Danielle also hinted on the Mention It All podcast that her issues with Lindsay stemmed from her comments about her ex-boyfriend, Robert Sieber. “Either you’re going to reach out or you’re not. It bothers me that we haven’t gotten to that point yet, of reaching out, especially [with] what’s going on in my personal life with Robert,” Danielle said. “I thought there was like a hope that maybe she’d be like, ‘Hey, I know we’re not in a good place right now; we’re not speaking, but I just want to let you know that I heard what was going on and I’m here for you.’ Something like that. But no, she’s planning a wedding, so…”
While it’s unclear if Lindsay and Danielle are friends again, the two have hinted at their reconciled relationship with photos of them filming Summer House Season 8. “Made it to Montauk,” Lindsay captioned an Instagram photo in August 2023 of her sitting next to Danielle.
Since Lindsay and Carl’s breakup, fans have flooded their online wedding guest book with comments about how Danielle was right about their relationship. “Hi Carl. Sucks you blew off your friendship with Danielle to marry that crazy Blonde,” wrote a user named “Matt.” “RIP yall. Danielle was right,” a user named “Karma Queen” wrote.
