Paul Skenes (2023 – Now)
Livvy Dunne is currently dating Paul Skenes, a professional baseball player with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The lovebirds first met at Lousiana State University through mutual friends. In an interview with Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he explained that his roommate, his best friend at LSU, was dating Dunne’s roommate, describing it as “a small-world type of thing.”
After the student-athletes met at Louisiana State University through mutual acquaintances, they began sparking romance rumors when Dunne was seen wearing his jersey at the College World Series in June 2023.
Rumors started swirling that Dunne and Skenes were an item in August 2023, when a fan said that they saw her with the pro baseball player. “walked behind a girl in shake shack thinking ‘she would look good with blonde extensions’ and ITS LIVI DUNNE AND HER MLB BF,” the person posted on TikTok. In the comment section, Dunne responded, “aw you should’ve said hi!💞 always down for some hair touch-ups tho 👀.” Dunne was also seen wearing her BF’s jersey at the College World Series in June 2023, when the Tigers won the NCAA National Championship.
Skenes officially confirmed their relationship in an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in August 2023. “It can be a pain in the butt sometimes, to be honest, in terms of actually going somewhere,” he explained. “If one of us went out in Baton Rouge [La.] by ourselves, there’s probably gonna be someone there asking for something — picture, autograph, whatever.”
He said their similar lifestyles has made their relationship easier. “It’s nice to be able to have that conversation. She does get it,” he added. “I do wish she could come to a baseball game and just enjoy it. It does irk me. I don’t have any control over it. She really doesn’t either. I’m sure it’ll get better as I go up levels, but that’s something I want for her.”
Both Dunne and Skenes have supported one another in their respective sports endeavors. He was there to cheer her on in April 2021 when the LSU Tigers gymnastics team won their first national championship. She was also there to support this first MLB appearance in May 2024 when the Pirates asked him to pitch for the first time. “POV: you both wake up from a nap and find out he’s in the MLB,” she posted on TikTok.
