New York Fashion Week is constantly setting the trends. And even though all eyes are on the newest collections, NYFW beauty is just as (if not more) impactful. In terms of makeup, runway shows bring us the year’s biggest makeup trends long before they hit your For You Page. So, if you’re curious about what’s to come in 2025, NYFW is the perfect place to look. After all, beauty trends can be super hard to keep up with—so there’s no harm in getting a head start.

2025 has already been a huge year for makeup. Whether it’s cherry red makeup flying off the shelves or Angelina Jolie’s signature ’90s lipstick making a big comeback, there’s been so many new trends to add to our moodboards. Although the year just started, we’re looking forward to all of the beauty looks that are still yet to come—which includes all of the weird and over-the-top looks that NYFW brings. Because as much as we love keeping tabs on Pinterest and TikTok to stay updated with the hottest trends, nothing compares to runway beauty. Designers are constantly pushing the envelope when it comes to hair, nails, and of course makeup. So naturally, we’re doing our best to spot the makeup looks all the cool girls will be rocking—long before they’re a thing.

In order to track down 2025’s hottest beauty trends, I went backstage at NYFW and asked makeup artists about the looks they’re executing. Thankfully for us, New York Fashion Week FW25 has been feeding us well with tons of different makeup looks to obsess over. From electric blue shadow at Christian Cowan to bubblegum blush at Selkie, there were tons of stunning makeup details. And because the beauty looks were so jaw-dropping, I’m taking note and adjusting my makeup routine accordingly.
