In Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville are caught out of bed at night and brought before Professor McGonagall. This quote takes place shortly after the four of them have had a dangerous encounter with a mountain troll in the castle. They managed to knock the troll unconscious, saving Hermione, but they were not supposed to be wandering around the school at night, and McGonagall catches them.
