Men's Beard Trends 2024: Minimalism, Shorter Beards, & Natural Looks

Jake Gyllenhaal fits right in with 2024 trends according to Taylor Hooker, Marketing Manager and Grooming Expert at Jack Black. “Much like the hair trends, we’re going to see an all or nothing approach to facial hair,” she explains. “For our bearded guy, it’ll be less about sharp lines and structured beards, and more about an organic approach. He’s making what he’s got look good without a ton of muss or fuss (and investing in a quality beard oil for a soft, manageable beard).”

Hooker sees a lot of clean shaven men, too. “I honestly think an all-or-nothing sentiment is going to be prevalent across both the hair and facial hair categories in 2024,” she says.

Donald Glover

Donald Glover is another perfect example of this natural-looking but sleek and groomed beard style. It shows his sense of style while still being put together for the red carpet. But really, does he ever look bad? We’re going to say no.

Henry Cavill

The always handsome Henry Cavill knows how to wear a beard that’s groomed without being too sleek. His neck is clean and his cheeks have nice lines—always.

Ryan Gosling

We love when Ryan Gosling grows out his facial hair just enough. It’s shorter than other stars but no less impactful.

Andrew Garfield rocks a trendy laid-back beard that’s still groomed to perfection. Tina Sapia, Booksy Ambassador and owner of Sapia’s Barbershop in Clearwater, FL, sees beards getting shorter in 2024. “When it comes to grooming, beards may be getting shorter, and people are going into hairstyles that require less product, or ‘touchable styles’ as I like to call them,” she says. “Going into 2024, we’re noticing more people aim for a more natural look.”

Glen Powell

Glen Powell has that natural look that’s still groomed for the red carpet. His longer hair really adds to the movie star look.

John Legend

Who has a sharper beard than John Legend? No one. We’re sure he’s using his own brand, LOVED01, to keep it soft and hydrated.

Penn Badgley let his beard and hair grow out during Covid 19 lockdowns. And he looked good. But we can’t help but love this groomed look on him with just enough beard to keep his mysterious vibe.

Jason Momoa has a the natural bearded look down maybe better than anyone. All he needs is a little grooming and he’s ready to hit the red carpet. We can’t image him without his iconic facial hair.

David Beckham

David Beckham is going for that shorter bearded style that’s so popular, though it’s hard to tell with all his neck tattoos. (We’re not complaining!)

Zac Efron also grew out his beard while he wasn’t working but now that he has a big movie coming out and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he’s much more clean shaven.
