What is “bad idea right?” by Olivia Rodrigo lyrics meaning?
What’s the meaning behind “bad idea right?” by Olivia Rodrigo. According to Olivia herself, it’s just a fun song that she conjured up and the rest is history. “‘bad idea right?’ started with us making a joke song about me hooking up with an ex-boyfriend, but then we realized we were actually onto something,” Rodrigo says in a press statement. “We were throwing the weirdest things at the wall — in one of choruses there’s a part that sounds like an instrument in the background, but it’s me gradually screaming louder and louder.”
That means the song couldn’t be directly proposing to one of her exes right? With relationships with Zack Bia, Adam Faze, and maybe Joshua Bassett, fans speculated that it could be about any of them well before the single dropped. But to Olivia, it’s all just fun and games.
The video was directed by frequent collaborator Petra Collins and has a bunch of Glee and Euphoria references. Lots of chaos ensues during the video as she makes her journey to see her ex, which turns out to be an mysterious glowing figure that explodes.
