Who is Patrick Demspey’s wife?
Patrick Dempsey’s wife is Jillian Dempsey (née Fink). The two met in 1997 when she was working in a hair salon and he happened to be one of their clients for the day. “I was shocked,” she recalled to People. “But at the same time, I was happy because he was so cute.” Though the romance didn’t happen for another couple of months. “She was always flirting,” Patrick gushed. Jillian moved into his home 3 months after they started dating. He was infaturated with her “the moment I saw her. I went in where she was working, and I looked across the room at her and was blown away.”
He recalled going on road trips with his wife when they were dating. “She was pretty game for the road trip so I thought that was good,” he said. “I love the cold and rain and she loves the sun and beach. We’re complete opposites and I have to say, she’ll make me do sh– I never want to do and 9 times out of 10 she’s absolutely correct. So she puts up with me.”
Two years later, the couple got married on Patrick’s family property in Maine. The two have three chidren, daughter Talula, 21, and twin sons Darby and Sullivan, 16. However, the two had some ups and downs in their marriage as they separated in 2015. Jillian even filed for divorce in 2016, but the two called it off later in the year as they reconciled.
“Everybody has their own path,” Patrick told People of the experience. “Jill and I decided it was time to work on our issues and improve. We wanted to be role models for our kids like, okay, if you have differences, you can work them out.”
He continued, “You can only do one thing at a time and do it well.” For Patrick, that meant less time on his car racing hobby and more time at home. “I [learned] to prioritize. Our union has to be the priority. I wasn’t prepared to give up on her and she wasn’t either. We both wanted to fight for it,” he said. As to the secret of a long-lasting marriage, the Grey’s Anatomy alum note, “You’ve got to communicate, and stay open and not get lazy,” Patrick said. “And not give up. And lots of sex!”

As a makeup artist to A-listers like Leslie Mann, Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Dunst, and Kristen Stewart, Jillian revealed how she chose her profession as a makeup artist and founder of her self-named cruelty free makeup brand and app FYFE. “At some point, I realized I had to choose,” she recalls. “I chose makeup because I liked painting faces.”
Though she loves to wear makeup free looks herself, she’s family-oriented, noting that she gets inspiration “looking at [her] kids and laughing at [her] kids.” She loves “the way they are super silly and natural.”
She told Maine Women Magazine, “I would hate for them to remember me as ‘in a mirror doing your makeup’ … I think that is why I like to do everything on the vanity front as condensed and fast as possible. I call it ‘lazy girl makeup.’ “
“I will always try everything on my family members, and I absolutely welcome any and all feedback,” she told of her family members trying out makeup stuff as well. “My big thing is to make sure the lipsticks taste good when you kiss. And, well, so far they taste pretty darn good,” Patrick agreed.
