Walter Scobell, Leah Jeffries in Percy JAckson and the Olympians
Disney+

It’s back to Camp Half-Blood! Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is finally here on Disney+, and fans are fawning over how much the cast has grown up.

The show follows Percy Jackson (Walter Scobell), the son of Poseidon, alongside two of his friends Annabeth Chase (Leah Jeffries) and Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri), on their journey in finding the golden fleece and saving a missing Grover.

Unlike the movie adaptation, author Rick Riordan emphasized that the cast should be closer to the age of the characters in the book. However, with some time spaced out between seasons, the cast and crew are taking it one day at a time. “I think one thing I did not fully appreciate when we started this whole process is how long a season of television takes to produce, especially big television like this,” Riordan told TheWrap. “I didn’t really fully appreciate all the challenges involved. I think I naively thought, ‘Yeah, we’ll hire the kids of the right age, and we’ll do a season a year, no problem.’ But you know, in reality, that’s very difficult to do for a number of reasons.”
