Priscilla was asked what it was like to see her life portrayed in such a way. “It’s very difficult to sit and watch a film about you, about your life, about your love,” Priscilla said, becoming visibly emotional: “Sofia did an amazing job. She did her homework, we spoke a couple of times and I really put everything out for her that I could.”

“It was very difficult for my parents to understand that Elvis would be so interested in me and why,” she said. “And I really do think because I was more of a listener. We were more in line in thought, and that was our relationship.”

On what she thinks about the upcoming audience reception of the film, Priscilla shared, “I’m so nervous because it’s my life,” “The people who are watching, they’re living it with you, and you hope and pray that they get it. They get your feelings, your hurts, your sensitivity.”

“(Priscilla) wasn’t looking to make a movie out of the story,” Coppola told The Associated Press in a recent interview. “But she said that because she liked my movies, she would let me do it.”

She continued, “Then we watched the show, and we had a few laughs, and we were all excited about Austin Butler and [director] Baz [Luhrmann], and the movie went so well, we were proud of them, then we started to go, and she said, ‘Mom, do you want to go to Chateau Marmont and have a drink?'”

She reflected on her daughter Lisa Marie’s death, her own mother’s death, and Lisa Marie’s son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2022. “It was unbearable. I lost my mother, I lost my grandson, and I lost my daughter. It’s still shocking that we don’t have her,” she said.

Priscilla is adamant that she has a valid case and that she will prevail in court. Joel Weinshanker, a Managing Partner at Elvis Presley Enterprises, revealed that he was in favor of Riley maintaining her trustee role after her mother’s death. “When Elvis passed away, he left everything to his little girl. He did so knowing that she would be the one to keep his legacy going,” he said on SiriusXM’s Elvis Radio. “I can tell you that [Lisa Marie] has, without falter, no matter what else was happening in her life, in her career, always been the one to look at what was best for Elvis… regardless of what somebody else was trying to do, regardless of what another family member [was trying to] do.”
