Rachel Zegler
Penske Media

Rachel Zegler’s actions have been put under the microscope lately by angry conservative people who seem to be triggered even by her mere existence. It’s on almost everyone Disney fams radar and according to film insiders, her comments helped scale back Snow White’s marketing and exacerbate her controversy with co-star Gal Gadot.

After their icy Oscars interaction when they were presenting at the prestigious awards show, insiders have reported that things have been a disaster behind the scenes. “Disney’s lead actress is out of control,” a movie insider told People. “They don’t know what to do … she’s an outspoken 20-something, and Disney chiefs have called her directly and asked her to tone down her posts. They’ve called her management, but she won’t listen. It’s been this way the entire way through filming. But it’s the tying of her politics to ‘Snow White’ that is upsetting.”

Another source added, “Gal is annoyed by the movie drama. She enjoyed filming. She was fine with Rachel but they are not friends. They have nothing in common… They did a job together and that’s it.”

As a Gen Z advocate for change, Rachel Zegler talked to Variety about how backlash was imminent. “I’ve watched women get torn down my whole life, my whole career,” she says. “We’ll watch it in the election that’s upcoming. We’re gonna witness that for a long time, I fear. Sometimes it can feel like we’re going back; it certainly felt that way when that was happening.”

She’s also taking a stance and not succumbing to their hateful comments. “I don’t like to give them the satisfaction of knowing they hurt me in the moment,” she says. “You give them a lot of power by taking a social media break.”
