He’s Australia’s No. 1 heartthrob right now and the winner of Dancing With the Stars. Robert Irwin is killing it on social media and the zookeeper is very open about his dating life — or lack of one.

The son of the late legend Steve Irwin, and brother to Dancing With the Stars winner Bindi Irwin, told People that he’s still waiting for the one. “I’m single,” he confessed. “It’s funny, I’m at this point in my life where I’m like, I’m so open to that, but I’m just waiting for the stars to align.”

“Interestingly, my parents [Terri and Steve], my sister Bindi met her husband [Chandler Powell] here — everyone met here at our wildlife sanctuary,” he elaborated about the family tradition. “In both instances, there were American tourists that were coming over and visiting the zoo. So I’m waiting. I’m waiting for that American tourist to come into the zoo and for it all to happen!”

After debuting as a competitor on the American ballroom competition, he and his dance partner Witney Carson made a TikTok joking about the influx of DMs in his inbox. “Oh my goodness, the DMs,” the Australian zookeeper told Page Six after his racy week 2 performance, “First of all, it just means so, so much. But, yeah, I’m on the lookout and it’ll happen when it happens … keep it coming!”

On dating, he joked to The New York Times, “Holy moly, that’s so challenging to navigate.” When it comes to romance, “anything you do will be on TikTok the next day.”
