It’s all about fun! Selena Gomez addressed the rumors that “Single Soon” is about The Weeknd. The anticipated single from the “Me, Myself & I” singer is an end-of-summer anthem for all the independent people who don’t need a man.

In the song, she sings, “Maybe I’ll just disappear / I don’t wanna see a tear / And the weekend’s almost here,” which led many fans to think it’s about the “Save Your Tears” singer.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, she talked about the process of writing her new album which includes 23 tracks. “‘My Mind and Me’ is a little sad,” she explains, “but it’s also a really nice way of putting a button on the documentary part of life, and then it’ll just be fun stories of me living my life and going on dates and having conversations with myself. I feel like it’s going be an album that’s like, ‘Oh, she’s not in that place anymore; she’s actually just living life.’”

So is “Single Soon” by Selena Gomez really about The Weeknd? Read more to find out.
