Eclipse season is almost over. As you exit the eclipse portal, you may want to know how the new moon and partial solar eclipse in Aries 2025 will affect each zodiac sign. Pay extra close attention to the events surrounding this lunation, since this eclipse represents the final chapter in a fateful cycle you have been working through since mid-2023.

It’s been one hell of a ride. Aries season has been more combustible than past seasons thanks to two ongoing retrogrades, several eclipses, and other historical cosmic changes. Needless to say, Aries season has packed a punch. This energy is similar to the Nine of Wands in Tarot, which is known as the “wounded soldier” card. Like the Nine of Wands, you might feel a beat up from fighting the good fight. However, you also have enough energy to keep moving forward even if you want to give up. Invoke the nine of wands energy to get through the remainder of this cosmic chaos. You can do it.

This lunation is special, because the new moon doubles as a partial solar eclipse. Typically, solar eclipses can only happen during a new moon. A partial solar eclipse occurs when the moon falls between the sun and Earth. However, the three heavenly bodies aren’t exactly lined up, hence the partial solar eclipse. As a result, the sun only partially blocks the sun and creates a crescent-shaped shadow. Parts of North America, northern Asia, Greenland, Iceland, and other sections of Europe will be privy to viewing this celestial event. Given that the eclipse can be seen from multiple places on Earth, you may want to check if you’re in one of the designated areas. And don’t forget to pick up a pair of protective sunglasses to safely watch this eclipse.

On March 29, 2025, the new moon in Aries will rise at 6:57 a.m. ET, which will occur at 9 degrees. Luna will answer to Mars, Aries’s planetary ruler. Mars will steer this eclipse with brute force and strength. However, Mars will be weakened and still processing what occurred months before as the warring planets go through the post-shadow period. Given Mars’ state, you may find that this Martian eclipse is more about assessing rather than reacting. Consider what you would do differently if you had a chance, and know that the opportunity may come over the next six months.

New moons represent the start of a six-month cycle. Typically, new moons can be excellent opportunities to manifest, set intentions, and spellcast. However, this new moon doubles as an eclipse, and the chaotic eclipse energy would likely skew your lunar ritual. You can still do as you please, but know that the eclipse’s energy will dominate the cycle. Everything meant to happen will happen, so you may want to think twice before interfering with fate and destiny. It’s best to sit back to see what may unfold instead of intervening during an eclipse cycle.

Aries’ energy is invigorating. Given that the beginning of Aries season coincides with the spring equinox, you can safely assume that Aries energy has the potential for a major reset. You may feel more courageous to take new risks, bolder than ever to stand up for yourself, and daring as you embark on new adventures. Aries has a childlike wonder that helps the ram confidently go forward without a second thought. Aries never stops to think about what might happen; Aries goes for it. Consider taking a page out of Aries’ book as you enter this six-month cycle by confidently assuming that only the best will happen.

The new moon and partial solar eclipse will take place on March 29 at 6:57 a.m. ET.

It’s all about you, as the eclipse aligns with the exalted sun in Aries. The intense cosmic energy will affirm that this is your time. At first, you might feel guilty. Making something all about you might not come naturally if you’re too busy worrying about everyone else. But the Aries’ energy will help you realize that this is why it’s all about you. You deserve to make time for yourself, your goals, your hopes, your life. Think of this new six-month cycle as your time to fill your cup. Be unapologetically selfish.

Although the eclipse won’t connect with any other celestial body, this lunation does emphasize the initial energy of Venus retrograde. How come? Venus retrograde began at 9 degrees in Aries, just like the eclipse. You could also count Mercury retrograde, which began at 10 degrees in Aries on March 15, 2025. Given that these three cosmic events align in their degree, the eclipse will emphasize whatever the retrogrades are attempting to teach you. Pay attention, since the retrograde themes and lessons may carry throughout the six-month cycle beginning during the eclipse.
