Sydney Sweeney Is ‘Getting Serious’ With Scooter Braun After Reports He Was ‘Obsessed’ With Her at Jeff Bezos’ Wedding

Sydney Sweeney’s ex-fiancé is Jonathan Davino. He’s a restauranteur and a producer. They were first photographed in 2018, out with Sweeney at an Emmys after-party at the NoMad hotel in Los Angeles.

A month later, he was spotted again with the actor as her official plus-one to a Kate Spade dinner at Spring Place. News broke the pair were engaged in November 2022 as Page Six reported at the time, in response to a photograph of Sydney wearing a big diamond ring on “that finger”.

The two aren’t in a rush to get married either. “I am so busy working! I’m a workaholic and I love it, I love it,” she explained to Entertainment Tonight in 2024 when asked how the wedding planning was coming along. “I think it’s incredible being able to work with people who you wanna be in business with,” Sydney said about working alongside her partner as executive producers on the film. “It’s amazing having someone who cheers you on and someone who fully just supports what you do.”

TMZ reported that the couple decided to postpone their wedding after three years of engagement in February 2025. The initial wedding date was scheduled to be in May 2025 and the exact reason for the postponement is unknown. Some people close to the couple told the gossip site that it’s being pushed back because of the couple’s busy schedule.

A source told Page Six that their relationships are on the rocks. “Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split,” the insider said. “Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.”

“Sydney is really focused on her career. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together,” the source continued.

On March 31, 2025, a source confirmed to People that the couple had split. “She’s exactly where she wants to be,” the source said of her career. “Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects.”

They continued, “What did make her overwhelmed though was her relationship and her wedding. She didn’t feel right about it,” and noted that she’s “in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago,” therefore, “This is what she wants to focus on right now.”

“She’s not ready to settle down,” the source concluded. “They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.”

Rumored: Glen Powell

During the press run of their rom-com Anyone But You, fans started to notice how close Sydney Sweeney and Glenn Powell have gotten. The rumors started to get steam when Glenn broke up with his long-term girlfriend Gigi Paris.

Though on April 26, 2023, sources confirmed to People and Entertainment Tonight that Glen Powell and Gigi Paris broke up weeks before the drama emerged. “Glen Powell and his (now ex) girlfriend Gigi Paris broke up in early April. The breakup was amicable,” the source told ET, and added that Powell is “single.”

The other source told People, “Gigi and Glen had broken up several times. They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never happy with the long-distance filming and when she came to Australia [where Powell was filming Anyone But You] they both decided to break up for good.” Another source told the outlet, “It wasn’t about infidelity. She’s on different coasts modeling, he’s on different coasts filming. When she left, they were on great terms.”

As to why the chemistry between the two costars were so great, the source said, “They’re filming a movie that’s a romantic comedy!” the second insider says. “It’s like when people say about movie stars, ‘Oh, they have such good chemistry.’ It’s just their job. They’re friends that met on set. They’re costars.”

Sources say Sydney Sweeney is “casually hooking up” with record mogul Scooter Braun. An insider told People, “Everything is casual. She is living her life and working hard.”

Another source told Page Six that Braun was “obsessed” with the Euphoria actress after getting to know her at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding.

In December 2025, sources told People that the two are getting closer. “Scooter and Sydney are going strong and things between them are great,” the source says. “They’re in a committed relationship and things are serious.”
