Red (Taylor’s Version)

Taylor Swift’s Red has to be one of the biggest and most hefty Taylor Swift releases to date, and you know that Red (Taylor’s Version) has to be one of the best re-releases to date.

“Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person…a fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end. Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past. Like trying on pieces of a new life, I went into the studio and experimented with different sounds and collaborators…This will be the first time you hear all 30 songs that were meant to go on Red,” she wrote. The album also includes the famous “All Too Well (10 Minute Version).” Swift told Rolling Stone in 2020 that the song wasn’t planned and came from a day where she was “feeling terrible” about her “personal life.” “It was a day when I was just, like, a broken human, walking into rehearsal just feeling terrible about what was going on in my personal life,” she said. “I just ended up playing four chords over and over again, and the band started kicking in. People just started playing along with me… I think they could tell I was really going through it.”

She announced the re-recording in 2021. “This process has been more fulfilling and emotional than i could’ve imagined and has made me even more determined to re-record all of my music. i Hope you’ll like this first outing as much as i liked traveling back in time to recreate it,” she wrote on Instagram.

Undeniably, the surprise album of the century. Folklore is a critically acclaimed album that won many Grammys at the 2021 Grammy Awards ceremony including TKTKT. The red Target exclusive vinyls include “the lakes” bonus track, and collectible cover art.

She announced the album in an Instagram post, “Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; @aarondessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), @boniver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and @jackantonoff (who is basically musical family at this point).”

She continued, “Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️”

Lover (Target Exclusive)

A soft romance. Lover is Taylor deep diving into the feeling of love. When announcing the album, she said that the album contained, “[18 tracks]—That’s more songs than I’ve ever had before. And this album in tone is very romantic—and not just simply thematically, like it’s all love songs or something because I think that the idea of being romantic, it doesn’t have to be a happy song. I think you can find romance in loneliness or sadness or going through conflict or dealing with things in your life. I think it just looks at these things with a very romantic gaze.” The Target Exclusive includes a cotton candy blue and pink vinyls.
