Another day, another Taylor Swift theory. This time, Swifties are convinced that the singer is announcing her 12th album at the American Music Awards, and the evidence is convincing.

As of writing, Swift has released 11 albums: 2006’s Taylor Swift, 2008’s Fearless, 2010’s Speak Now, 2012’s Red, 2017’s Reputation, 2019’s Lover, 2020’s Folklore and Evermore, 2022’s Midnights, and 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department.

Most of Swift‘s albums have been released two years apart from each other, and with her most recent album—The Tortured Poets Department—coming out in 2024, she’s due for another LP in 2026. This would make the 2025 American Music Awards on May 26, 2025, the perfect time for her to announce her next record.

But why are fans convinced Taylor Swift is announcing her next album at the AMAs? We break down the Easter eggs ahead.
