Most of Swift‘s albums have been released two years apart from each other, and with her most recent album—The Tortured Poets Department—coming out in 2024, she’s due for another LP in 2026. This would make the 2025 American Music Awards on May 26, 2025, the perfect time for her to announce her next record.

The main clue that Swift could be announcing her 12th album at the American Music Awards is that the singer recently changed the categories of her online store, TaylorSwift.com, to Apparel, Music, Accessories, and Sale, whose first letters spell out “AMAs.”
Another clue that Swift is announcing her 12th album at the American Music Awards is that she has exactly 12 items on sale for 26 percent off. The number 12 is significant because Swift’s next album will be her 12th, while the 26th is important because the AMAs are on May 26, 2025. (Though the 26 could also be an easter Egg that Swift’s next album will come out in 2026.)
Swift’s official fan site, Taylor Nation, also recently reshared a fan’s tweet on X about voting for Swift at the American Music Awards, along with the caption: “And our town, it looks so Small from wAy up here.” Fans were quick to notice that the capitalized letters in the tweet spell out AMAs.
During the 67th Grammy Awards on February 2, 2025, fans noticed that Swift’s earrings had 12 stones on them, which Swifties considered an Easter egg that her 12th album is coming.
