Taylor Swift’s Official The Eras Tour Book is getting heat after many Swifties pointed out visible mistakes in the book. These fans have praised the success of her tour, but the book didn’t live up to the exceeding standards.
The 256-page The Eras Tour Book contains over 500 photos from every era, including performance and rehearsal shots nobody has supposedly seen yet, on top of musings penned by the mastermind herself. “Here is the official retrospective of the most wondrous tour of my life, my beloved Eras Tour,” Taylor Swift said in a Target press release. “Thank you to the fans who came to this show. You were what made The Eras Tour what it became.” The book was published independently and distributed exclusively by Target.
While fans praised that Taylor’s book forward was amazing and that it was clearly edited, lots of Swifties saw noticeable errors and typos throughout the book. A TikTok made by a fan named Emily called the mistakes “appalling” noting that there were so many “grammatical errors, blurry photos, and design flaws” in the book, which fans have now lovingly dubbed the “errors tour book.”
TikTok user @emermore pointed out the duplicate use of “every night” during the Reputation part of the book. It read, “Every night before the beat kicks in on ‘delicate,’ the crowd screams ‘1, 2, 3, LET’S GO BITCH.’ Another Eras Tour crowd tradition I looked forward to every night.”
Lots of fans have complained that several wide-panned pictures of the book have Taylor deadset in the middle of the two pages, making it hard to see without folding back the spine all the way. “Most people are not going to flatten out these expensive books and break the spine just so they can see this part of the photo,” TikTok user @emermore7 said.
TikTok user @thegmansour pointed out that a lot of the text in his book has been cut out by the edges. While some people pointed out that this might be a stylistic choice, the TikTok user said that many fans did not have their text cut out from the book.
Some fans like @thegmansour pointed out that the book added a comma after Warsaw, PL. Many fans in the comments also added that the book didn’t have the date that they attended.
@emermore7 pointed out that many of the pictures in the book are pixelated and aren’t great quality. She even alleged some pictures of Swift looked like they were “taken on an iPhone,” or were “quite blurry and grainy.”
One fan even said that their book was missing pages. “what do you mean my eras book is missing half of evermore’s section 🤧 i’m missing pages 49-66 😭😭😭,” they wrote on X.
One of her lyrics “this is me trying,” from a song from her 2020 album Folklore, is mispelled. The page had listed “this is me rying.” Another typo included the song “gold rush,” which failed to include a space between the two words. Instead, it read: “goldrush.”
Some TikTokers pointed out that many of these pictures have been reused. @christiancubacub paused during the Eras Tour movie to reveal the exact image in the book. A lot of the pictures also came from Taylor Swift’s Instagram.
