She’s been to the Met Gala six times, most recently in 2016, and Taylor Swift’s Met Gala looks show how her style has evolved over the years. Fans are desperate to know if she’ll be making an appearance in 2025 with her longtime boyfriend Travis Kelce, but her previous commitments have yet again called her attendance into question.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual fundraiser for the Costume Institute takes the world by storm with celebs wearing elegant outfits and gracing the steps that lead down Fifth Avenue. However, not everyone can attain an invite just like that. Since 1995, the guest list and table seating chart have been curated by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, with only around 600 people making the list each year.

The 2025 theme is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, which aims to explore the history and influence of Black dandyism. While Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams have all been announced as co-chairs—the guest list otherwise is still under wraps.

Last year, Taylor was undertaking her mammoth Eras Tour with a 44-long setlist spanning her entire career and more than three hours, and her fans were disappointed she wasn’t able to make an appearance on the Met steps. Even though she hasn’t attended since 2016, Swifties are still holding out hope that this might be the year she finally returns. In the meantime, let’s take a look at Taylor Swift’s Met Gala looks to see how her style has evolved over the years.
