Are Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce getting engaged? Some anonymous sources say it’s not far off from being a reality. Page Six reported that the tight end has asked the singer’s father Scott Swift permission for her hand in marriage. It’s also “very probable” they are spending the holiday together. Though another source told The Messenger, “There are no plans for an engagement anytime soon. There is no engagement at this time.”
A source previously close to Kelce claimed to Page Six: “Scott has been asked for his blessing and has wholeheartedly given it, and Travis has been talking to friends about a ring.” Apparently Kelce is “the most extroverted guy Taylor has dated in forever. This is so much truer to who Taylor is than any prior relationship.” They continued: “Taylor finally has a partner willing and game. He’s like, ‘I’ll stand by the side of the stage and wait for you to jump in my arms — I’ll do that!’”
In a Wrestlemania match appearance, Jason Kelce was referred to as Taylor Swift’s brother-in-law. One announced asked another, “Isn’t that whatshername’s brother-in-law?” before the other broke out in song.
It’s in stark contrast to her previous relationship with Joe Alwyn, which ended in April 2023. They were barely seen in public. A Swift insider added to Page Six: “Taylor is so in love. She just hasn’t been with a guy who is so excited and proud to be with her in so long. She’d gotten used to having to hide away and lay low whenever she’s been in a relationship.
“Calvin [Harris, the DJ Swift dated in 2015 and 2016] and Joe were BIG on hiding. So she followed their lead,” the Swift insider said. “But now she’s finally with someone who is appropriately like, ‘Holy s–t, I’m with Taylor Swift! Awesome!’ and she’s so delighted that she gets to be out in the world.
They concluded: “Don’t forget, this is a girl who made out with Harry Styles in Times Square [on New Year’s Eve 2012] and posted pictures of her fling [actor Tom Hiddleston, in 2016] wearing an ‘I heart TS’ T-shirt. Low key isn’t actually her preferred vibe. But when it’s been at the insistence of the guy she’s with, she’s gone along with it.”
This comes after reports that Taylor and Travis would be spending the holidays together. Sources told Us Weekly in an article published on November 27, 2023, that Taylor had been spotted touching down in Travis’ hometown of Kansas City just one day after she wrapped up the last of her 2023 Eras Tour shows in São Paulo, Brazil.
Multiple sources previously told Us Weekly that the beloved couple has “big plans” to spend Christmas and the New Year holiday together. “Travis has already started Christmas shopping and has some really special surprises [for Taylor] in store,” a source tells the site. “Their connection is off the charts, and they can’t wait to celebrate together.
While the Midnights singer wraps up the South American leg of her Eras Tour and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end finishes the NFL season, the pair is reportedly coordinating their schedules to see each other. “They have very detailed plans coming up while she’s on tour and he has games,” a second source tells Us. “Taylor and Travis have the next few months completely laid out. They don’t want to start their relationship off with big gaps [in time spent apart]. They’re trying to be as much like a regular couple as possible.”
The second source adds that the lovebirds are hoping to squeeze in visits with each other’s families before jetting off on a romantic trip with just the two of them. “They love [getting together] with their families and friends, but right now, what they value above all else is alone time.”
