We weren’t expecting this tonight! “Texas Hold ‘Em” by Beyoncé’s lyrics have us dancing around the whole night. The “Break My Soul” artist actually broke the Internet when she announced her new album during a Super Bowl ad.

Beyoncé announced that her new album Act II on March 29, 2024. The teaser on her website includes her driving through a desert road that references her home state of Texas. Two tracks that are included in the 16-track album are “Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.” She released both tracks right after the album announcement.

Clocking in just a minute for a Verizon ad, Queen Bey did her thing and challenged Verizon’s unbreakable 5G network by making herself into AI, making references to Barbie (Bar-bey if you will), playing the saxophone oh-so elegantly, running as the Beyoncé Of The United States, and even rocket-launching herself into space for the “First Performance in Space.” She also made several throwbacks to her old music like standing at a Lemonade stand while holding a baseball bat (in reference to the music video of “Hold Up” from that album) as well as “Break My Soul.”

So what does “Texas Hold ‘Em” lyrics mean? Read more to find out.
