The Housemaid Movie Dream Cast: The Best Actors to Play Millie, Enzo & More

Wilhelmina (Millie) Calloway – Samara Weaving 

While Millie may look innocent at first glance, she has a tense past and all the capabilities one needs to take down a predator. Samara Weaving carries a track record of playing similar roles in thriller and horror movies like the Scream franchise, Last Moment of Clarity, and Ready or Not. Diving into Ready or Not in particular, we see Weaving transform from a damsel in distress to a thick-skinned woman with the wit and determination to survive—which is the perfect recipe when it comes to playing a character like Millie.    

Enzo –  Michele Morrone  

In the first book, Enzo is the mysterious italian landscaper lurking around the Winchester’s home. By the time he makes it to the third installment, however, Enzo is now Millie’s husband and is seen with an even more puzzling plotline full of secrets. 

Tall, dark, italian, and handsome with an edge, seeing Michele Morrone hit the screen in this franchise would be a literal dream (hence dream cast!). His credentials already entail having played roles as love interest and has affiliations in crimes in films such as Duetto and The Next 365 Days franchise. It would be interesting to watch as Morrone develops such a small, yet integral character in the beginning into a major part during another stage of Millie’s

Andrew Winchester – Jake Gyllenhall  

Andrew Winchester appears to be the man with it all; handsome, successful, and caring. Given the surprising and dark twist of Winchester’s character in the middle of The Housemaid, who better to play the role than someone who’s created that exact kind of shock before? 

Jake Gyllenhall plays Mysterio in Spider-Man Far From Home, who at first arrives onto the scene as the new superhero helper. As the movie progresses though, it’s later revealed that Mysterio is not like anything he seemed to be in the beginning— making Winchester the perfect kind of role to reprise. Not to mention Gyllenhall also possesses similar features to the character. 

Nina Winchester – Rosamund Pike 

Nina Winchester may seem a little unhinged, but for her, it’s all part of the plan. When she could no longer take Andrew Winchester’s abusive acts towards her, she purposefully hires Millie to help get rid of him after uncovering her unfortunate past. Nina manipulates her situation by acting out as the emotionally unstable and jealous wife, accusing Andrew and Millie of forming a relationship and pushing them together as a result. 

Rosamund Pike fits this role to a T as she’s played the part of a scheming wife before in Gone Girl, which earned her an Oscar nomination. She can also be found in the film Saltburn, where her character is seen as uncanny.

Cecelia – Emily Mitchell 

Cecelia is Nina’s spoiled, bratty daughter who doesn’t make Millie’s life easy during the days Millie’s in charge of taking care of her. She only pushes Millie closer to Andrew as he’s more sympathetic and understanding of the difficulties caused by his stepdaughter. With the range of attitudes needed for Cecelia’s character, Emily Mitchell has proven she can fit the needs of this character.  

Although she’s very young, Mitchell is already known to have worked with various well-known celebrities in the industry. This includes making appearances in recent movies such as Ordinary Angels, Out of My Mind, and Priscilla.

Evelyn Winchester – Caroline Lagerfelt

Every villain has their own origin story, right? Andrew’s sadistic tendencies didn’t appear out of nowhere, and in the book it’s alluded to the fact that his mother Evelyn Winchester possessed them as well. In fact, she even praises Nina during the minimal interaction at Andrew’s wake. 

After seeing Caroline Lagerfelt perfectly slip into the role as the manipulative elitist grandmother in Gossip Girl, it only makes sense that she plays Evelyn albeit if only for a small appearance like in the book.

Douglas Garrick – Chris Pine

In the second book, roles are reversed during the second time Millie takes on the title of housemaid. Douglas Garrick seems like the kind of husband who has it all together with charm and success, which ends up being exactly right. His fate on the other hand? Not so entirely delightful. 

Chris Pine has played so many large roles over the years, and so it’s easy to think this one may be too small for him. However, his charm and genuinity expressed across his many other characters in films would do justice to the personality perceived from Douglas Garrick. 

Wendy Garrick – Victoria Pedretti 

Wendy Garrick isn’t your typical housewife. She can even add killer to her resume when it’s realized that she was the one to have actually killed Douglas Garrick, not Millie. 

Victoria Pedretti has already proven to possess these acting traits from Seasons 2 and 3 of You as the character Love Quinn when it’s revealed she’s a killer just like Joe Goldberg. It would be entertaining to see Pedretti take on this similar type of role and see how she’d adapt to differently than the one in You.

Russell Simonds – Sebastian Stan 

In cahoots with Wendy Garrick, Russell Simonds poses as Douglas Garrick and tricks Millie into believing she murdered the real Douglas Garrick. 

Another Gossip Girl alumni, Sebastian Stan could easily come on to the scene with the manipulation and misadventures he brought out in his character Carter during the early aughts of the series.   

Brock – Miles Teller 

Labeled to be the traditional good guy, their relationship becomes too much for Brock when Millie keeps pushing him away, and he ultimately finds out she doesn’t have the cleanest record when her past is revealed. 

When looking at popular fancasting picks for The Housemaid series, Miles Teller has repeatedly appeared as the top choice for Brock. Teller historically got put on the map with his love interest role The Spectacular Now.

Marybeth – Ginnifer Goodwin

Who could forget about Marybeth? Her role in the end may be small, but it’s certainly significant when we find out she’s the one responsible for her husband Russell’s murder. 

Although she’s considered to be a murderer, the sweetness to Marybeth doesn’t go unnoticed—which is why she’s ultimately a likable character. If Ginnifer Goodwin  plays the role similarly to the way she did as Snow White in the TV series Once Upon a Time, then you’d have an ideal Marybeth. While demonstrating the classic charm Snow White is known for, Goodwin also illustrated her character to put her foot down when needed.

Nico – Nolan River 

Fast forward a few years, and Nico is Millie and Enzo’s nine-year-old son. While the neighborhood Millie and Enzo move to with their family is mostly quiet, something doesn’t feel right with their new neighbors. When Nico begins to act out, all signs begin to point to them for the possible reason. 

Having been seen in movies Adverse and Old, Nolan River has already been on the set of drama films with intense concepts. River would be able to adapt to the changing behaviors of his character as the movie progresses.  

Ada – Maya Bednarek 

Ada is the second child of Millie and Enzo, and she has a wildly protective streak of her brother. This ultimately leads her to stabbing their neighbor Jonathan Lowell; she confronted him about the well-being of her brother. 

Maya Benarek already has various roles as a daughter under her belt from various projects including Lone Star, Shameless, Good Girls, and The Shrink Next Door. It would be interesting to see her thrive as the character of Ada, who displays such a fierce drive to help her brother.

Suzette Lowell – Nicole Kidman 

Suzette has a flirtatious personality and mysteriously spends a lot of time with Enzo throughout the book, leading Millie to believe Enzo could be cheating on her. As the plot thickens and unravels, it’s eventually confirmed to Millie that her beliefs were actually false. 

Nicole Kidman has shown a wide range of talent in the characters she’s played over the years. When looking at other fan picks, she’s been listed as the top choice for not only Suzette Lowell, but also Wendy Garrick and Nina Winchester. She also has a resume stacked with thriller movies including Malice, Strangerland, and The Interpreter so she’d grace this role with ease.

Jonathan Lowell – Jason Bateman 

After finding out that Jonathan Lowell isn’t Mr. Innocent with his treatment towards Nico, another actor capable of playing characters with a manipulative, conniving personality. 

In this case, Jason Bateman would fit based off of his performance as Marty Byrde in Ozark. His bold, yet calculating scheming are the exact traits one would need when filling the shoes of someone like Joanthan Lowell.

Martha – Elizabeth Lail

Set as the neighbor’s housemaid in the third installment, Martha is the reason money begins to go missing from Enzo and Millie’s joint checking account. While Enzo isn’t cheating like Millie originally thought, he is trying to help her discreetly get away from her abusive husband. 

Another fancast favorite, Elizabeth Lail is no stranger to a good thriller after getting put on the map for her role as Beck in Season 1 of You. At least this time her character has a bit of a better chance of escaping.
