Timothée Chalamet lookalike Contest

The lookalike contest that started it all. Now that we’ve gotten multiple celebrity lookalike contests from Jeremy Allen White to Jung Kook to Zendaya and even One Direction members Harry Styles and Zayn Malik, it’s time to revisit the OG—the Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest.

During one bleak fall in New York City, multiple fliers started popping up in Downtown Manhattan. “Timothee Chalamet lookalike competition,” it read with a Partiful QR code as well as a date and time of the event taking place in Washington Square Park. Hundreds of people showed up to the event in hopes of becoming the one who looks most like the Call Me By Your Name actor or to betroth themselves to one of them. To everyone’s surprise, the REAL Timothée Chalamet showed up and posed with one of the lookalikes. He quickly left due to the overcrowding and the host got fined $500 for hosting the competition. It was arguably the most iconic of the lookalike contests, and you know you made it when Saturday Night Live has a bit of it in one of their sketches.
