Warning: Major spoilers ahead for Venom: The Last Dance. Venom: The Last Dance closes the chapter for Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Venom, but the movie is opening up new stories for other symbiote including the biggest and baddest villain of the Sony Spider-Man universe: Knull.
The movie follows Eddie and Venom who are running from their past on both worlds. The movie has gotten mixed reviews from critics alike. DigitalSpy reviewer Chris Killian wrote of the film, “Venom: The Last Dance is the most entertaining of the trilogy. It’s largely a funny and sweet road trip with Eddie and Venom living their Thelma & Louise fugitive dreams, including car karaoke and dog rescuing. You might even find yourself getting emotional.” While CinemaBlend’s Sean O’Connell wrote, “I think #VenomTheLastDance is the best of the three, while still being incredibly bad. It’s bizarre, and watchable, because it’s willing to try anything. Symbiote fish? Sure. Mrs. Chen dance sequence? Why not. I laughed a few times, but this trilogy accomplished very little. Sigh.”

Read below about some of the spoilers for the last movie in the Venom trilogy and the future for some of its characters.
Even though they got transported into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Venom and Eddie get zapped back into their own universes where they’re still fugitives.
The duo heads to Area 51 where they meet Rex Strickland (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and Dr. Payne (Juno Payne). They discover that there are many symbiote who are trying to take refuge of something mysterious. Detective Mulligan is brought back and the pair of scientists decide to let a new symbiote bond to him.
While escaping some of the Xenophrages, Venom and Eddie are spotted by a family whose patriarch (played by Rhys Ifan) decides to help them hitchhike to Las Vegas. While there, they run into Ms. Chen. Venom offers to dance with her, and he eventually transforms and alerts all the Xenophrages.
Eddie and Venom encounter their first Xenophage while they’re traveling and successfully escape its grasp. Venom alerts Eddie that they were dispatched by Knull to find The Codex, which has bonded to the duo since Eddie died in the first movie. The Xenophages could only track them down if Venom is in his full form.
Strickland kidnaps Eddie back into Area 51 and Venom comes into the rescue when he threatens to shoot his buddy. Xenophrages come crashing in and different symbiote come together to protect the facility. They’re unfortunately outnumbered by the Xenophrages sheer strength when Venom suggests that they would have to break the codex, and the famed symbiote sacrifices himself when Strickland activates the acid base.
Critics and early screeners reported that the movie has two end credits scenes and according to these folks, it’s something that you don’t want to miss out on!
The first end credits scene finds Knull ranting about how he wants to end the world as we know it. Maybe he’s all talk, but see below on how they plan to utilize him in future films. The second end credits scene follows the bartender (Cristo Fernandez) who tries to escape the remaining Area 51, and we get a glimpse of a symbiote who’s ready to attach to something.
From multiple reports, Tom Holland does not make an appearance in Venom: The Last Dance as Peter Parker / Spider-Man.
With Venom: Let Them Be Carnage directly tied to Spider-Man: No Way Home, many early viewers of the third movie narrowly avoided questions about how it ties to future Spider-Man films. “The #SpiderMan4 rumors have been blown out of proportion IMO, but #VenomTheLastDance left me wanting more of these two. And Knull (mostly)” critic Josh Wilding posted on X.
When a fan replied about how the rumors were exaggerated, Wilding responded, “I can’t say much at this point, but it sets up something for sure. It could be Venom 4, it could be some sort of Sony crossover, or it might be Spider-Man 4. Personally, I think the scoopers have got a little ahead of themselves by saying it’s the latter.”
Venom: The Last Dance director and co-writer Kelly Marcel told IGN that even though Knull just debuted in this movie, he’s going to have major appearances in the future. “We were always aware of Knull, but knew that we needed to lay the foundation of the Venom character, and his relationship with Eddie, before introducing him. This is just the beginning for Knull,” Marcel told the gaming site. “We’re in spoiler territory now and we hope some of the fun of watching this movie is not knowing what will happen, but trust me, we know full well how important Knull is to the fans, so just as we laid a foundation for Venom, we hope we are doing the same for Knull,” she said. “The King in Black is way too powerful for ‘one and done.’”
“This film introduces Knull, but it just touches the beginnings of his story,” Marcel added. “Marvel’s greatest film villains are developed over time. Here, Knull is the threat lurking behind the danger that tests the absolute limits of Eddie and Venom’s partnership — but it’s their relationship that remains the heart of this story.”
“As the fans know there are many, many more symbiote stories — the universe is wide and rich, and one movie could never do justice to Knull. Beyond this trilogy, there are more stories to explore – God is coming.”
Days before the film’s premiere, Tom Hardy relished in his time playing the anti-hero and confirmed that the movie is the last in the trilogy, but he still wants to fight Tom Holland. “I want to fight Spider-Man. I want to fight Spider-Man right now. I’m well up for it…. Never say never,” the actor said at New York Comic Con as reported by IGN.
