Target is the best place to buy high-quality and budget-friendly skincare and makeup, and Versed is one of my go-to brands for both. The brand recently launched a collection of skin-first makeup formulas designed to nourish the complexion while also providing pigments for some little enhancements here and there.

Right now, I’m in my MERIT beauty era, so when I realized one of the new Versed makeup formulas is super similar to my favorite MERIT blush, I was immediately intrigued.

I love MERIT Flush Balm Cream Blush ($30) and reach for it regularly, whether I am going for a more natural makeup look or a more dramatic, evening MOTD. It’s easy to apply, great for traveling, and you can layer it on for a more customizable blush finish. So, when I saw the Versed Shade Swipe Blush Stick at Target for half the price, I was definitely intrigued and decided to try the Bloom hue since it is most similar to my favorite Cool Mauve MERIT blush.

Looks-wise, it’s not an exact dupe—the MERIT blush has a larger surface area, and the Versed blush is more of a stick style—but the formulas have that same creamy consistency and are both easy to blend into the skin, and you can layer up for a more dramatic flush. The Versed Shade Swipe comes in five colors and is formulated with jojoba oil to nourish the skin and provide some flexibility to the application. I use it when I have a full makeup look and on days when I reach for just eyebrow gel and tinted sunscreen.

Size: 0.19 oz
Shades: 5
Key Ingredients: Jojoba oil
