A back and forth, is it worth it to say sorry? If you’re a Belieber for life, there’s a slight update to what happened between Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun.

Braun and Bieber have been tight since the beginning, with Braun convincing the “Sorry” singer’s mother to let him record demos in Atlanta when he was 13 and helped him rise to stardom. Braun, who recently became HYBE America CEO in 2021 after selling Ithaca Records to the company, garnered notoriety after selling Taylor Swift’s masters. The masters were acquired when Scooter bought Taylor’s former label, Big Machine Records, and the acquisition does not allow Swift the creative freedom of owning her own songs.

Bieber defended his longtime friend and manager in the Taylor-Scooter battle. “Scooter has had your back since the days you graciously let me open up for you!” he wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “As the years have passed, we haven’t crossed paths and gotten to communicate our differences, hurts or frustrations. So for you to take it to social media and get people to hate on Scooter isn’t fair. What were you trying to accomplish by posting that blog? seems to me like it was to get sympathy u also knew that in posting that your fans would go and bully Scooter. One thing I know is both scooter and I love you. … Neither scooter or I have anything negative to say about you, we truly want the best for you.”
