What happened to Sutton Stracke? The Real Housewife of Beverly Hills seemingly collapsed in her chair during the cast reunion. It happened just after host Andy Cohen introduced a friend of the show, Kathy Hilton, who hadn’t been seen all season.

Out of frame, you can hear what appears to be Stracke beginning to hyperventilate before the camera cuts to her as she slides down the sofa, gripping Garcelle Beauvais. “Can we call somebody please?” an alarmed Beauvais asked.

“You’re shaking, you’re shaking, you are really shaking,” Cohen also tells her before a paramedic, as well as certified registered nurse anesthetist Annemarie Wiley, tend to her. A close-up reveals that indeed, Stracke’s hands are trembling. “Oh my God, that’s scary,” Dorit Kemsley said.

Weeks before the first trailer for the reunion dropped, there were reports Stracke left the set in an ambulance. She’s seemingly recovered, though. The reunion was filmed on January 26 and since then, Stracke has taken a vacation to Cabo with the family.

It’s not the first health scare of the season either, with Crystal experiencing something equally as terrifying earlier in the year.

As someone who works in the medical field, specifically as a nurse anesthesiologist, Annemarie instructed her to “squeeze my fingers,” Crystal was growing afraid she was exhibiting “stroke symptoms.”

Dorit told cameras she was concerned “something was truly wrong with her” because of her gray skin, protruding veins, and beads of sweat. “This is not just like a ‘lay down and drink some ginger ale and walk it off’ kind of situation,” Annemarie told the cameras. “But like, given Crystal repeatedly insulting and degrading my profession, the irony of what is happening right now is literally shocking,” she added.

Annemarie is referring to an incident where she was called out for mislabelling her job. “I said I’m a nurse anesthetist … [Crystal] didn’t know what that was,” Annemarie explained on the January 17 episode of the RHOBH: After Show. “A nurse anesthetist is an RN that practices anesthesia, and an anesthesiologist is an MD that practices anesthesiology. So we do the same practice. We have the same scope of practice. We just get there two different paths,” she shared.

Crystal laid down to wait for an ambulance. Annemarie claimed, “I don’t want her to get up and get a hypertensive crisis or something and then stroke out … not that that would ever happen!” When the ambulance arrived, Crystal called out her blood pressure, reading to Annemarie, “177 over 108,” who replied, “Yup, there you go.”

Crystal was taken to hospital to be monitored and the next time we saw her, she was resting in bed. She got emotional describing the “scary” events of the day.

“My family history has a history of high blood pressure [and] hypertension and it’s something that I know that I’ve struggled with but I didn’t realize it could get to this point,” she said in a confessional interview. “It was so scary, and although my dad had always told me the signs to watch out for a stroke, some people can’t come back.”

She continued: “I’ve never been faced with my mortality,” she added. “I really appreciate Annemarie being there for me and putting aside all our differences in a moment that was truly what felt like the bottom for me.”

She also decided to buy the hatchet with Annemarie. “Annemarie was amazing today, I really saw a really kind and generous side and it really makes me want to move forward in our friendship and start fresh,” Crystal told cameras.

What is hypertension?

Hypertension is the medical term for higher-than-normal blood pressure. According to the Mayo Clinic:

• Normal blood pressure. Blood pressure is 120/80 mm Hg or lower.
• Elevated blood pressure. The top number ranges from 120 to 129 mm Hg and the bottom number is below, not above, 80 mm Hg.
• Stage 1 hypertension. The top number ranges from 130 to 139 mm Hg or the bottom number is between 80 and 89 mm Hg.
• Stage 2 hypertension. The top number is 140 mm Hg or higher or the bottom number is 90 mm Hg or higher.

Blood pressure higher than 180/120 mm Hg is considered a hypertensive emergency, to which Crystal got dangerously close.
