Is there trouble after checking out from The White Lotus? After the bombshell Season 3 finale of the White Lotus, fans are speculating that many of the cast members didn’t get along. Among those two are the onscreen Greek Tragedy lovers Rick and Chelsea played by Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood.
Their very dysfunctional (but loving) relationship was explored in the show. By the end, the two characters died a tragic death after Rick shot Jim Hollinger, who was unknowingly his father. After the finale was celebrated by the cast and fans online, lots of fans thought that there might be some behind the scenes drama. “need to know walton goggins and aimee lou wood tea immediately,” one fan posted.

Jason Isaacs, who played the contentious Timothy Ratliff, explained that it wasn’t paradise on set either. “It was a theatre camp, but to some extent an open prison camp: you couldn’t avoid one other,” the actor told The Guardian. “There are tensions and difficulties, I don’t know if they spilled from on screen to off-screen, or if it would have happened anyway.”
He added, “There were alliances that formed and broke, romances that formed and broke, friendships that formed and broke. It’s a long period of time for people to be away from their family with an open bar and all the wildness being in Thailand allows.”
See why the internet is up in arms about their relationship outside of the show.

In a resurfaced Instagram comment, Goggins wrote, “You are the brightest light in every room. A Humans Human. Miss you. 🦊🦊.”
In an interview with GQ, Goggins opened up about a full circle moment with the show and how it reflected the time after his wife took her own life. “And yeah—I thought it was really unrecoverable for me,” he told the outlet. Life on the other side of that. And I spent the next three years looking for an excuse—not to end it, but certainly putting myself in situations that were questionable, not with drugs or anything like that, just life experiences and traveling. And I really went all over the world.”
“We pulled up to this dock, Alex,” Goggins says, “and I was like, I know this dock. What? Okay. Yeah. No. I know this. Oh my God. That’s the room I stayed in 20 years ago. That’s my balcony. That’s where I was the very first day I came here, 20 years ago, and in so much fucking pain, man.
“We got out of the boat,” he says, “and that’s where we were filming, man—all of the equipment was literally right in front of the hotel that I’d picked 20 years ago on the internet, on this little bitty road in this little bitty neighborhood.”
He concluded, “I think I haven’t had the time to fully unpack the symmetry between those two people showing up at the same place, separated by 20 years. And a wife and a kid and peace and all the rest of it.”
A few eagle eyed fans noticed that the co-stars weren’t following each other. According to some Redditors, Goggins allegedly blocked Wood because her comments don’t appear on his profile.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, it was reported that Walton Goggins didn’t appear at the finale viewing party alongside the other members of the cast. His reasoning was because it was part of his grieving process. “And I was sad that Walton wasn’t there because it was something that we did together but also it’s so fucking Rick and Chelsea,” Wood told the outlet. “Like, of course Walton had to watch it alone and of course I had to watch it in the group because there is so much Aimee in Chelsea and so much Walton in Rick.”
Walton Goggins posted an Instagram tribute to his time on The White Lotus for the finale. He didn’t tag Aimee Lou Wood. He wrote, “Rick + Chelsea. With the heaviest of hearts… To me, ours was a love story. It was only ever a love story, hindered by unresolved, childhood trauma. We all have them… but can we move past them. In the depths of our despair there is always beauty around us. If we can sit with our pain, just sit with it… not react… not be defined by it…It’s there… the love the world is constantly giving in any given moment is there. Always waiting for us to see it… Trust me I know.”
Elsewhere, he wrote, “Thank you Aimee Lou for being my partner… a journey I will never forget.”
He also posted photos on his Instagram story set to “Silver Springs” by Fleetwood Mac, which is a band notorious for their inner-band affairs.
In an Instagram post, Wood posted a photo of her and Goggins in character with the caption: “The perfect storm 🩷 ☯️ ♾️” She also did not tag Goggins.
On April 12, SNL aired a sketch about The White Lotus, which Aimee Lou Wood called “mean” and “unfunny.” In the sketch, comedian Sarah Sherman parodies Aimee Lou Wood’s character of Chelsea by wearing fake teeth. Wood wrote on her Instagram Stories about it, saying that the show could have taken a “cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap” approach considering “a big gap, not bad teeth.”
Goggins clearly found it funny anyway, and funny enough to repost on his own Instagram stories even after Wood had already complained about the sketch, calling it “smashing.”
