What’s wrong with Denise Richards?
Denise Richards hasn’t spoken publicly about what transpired at the RHOBH cannabis dinner, but her “slurred” speech did cause some other cast members to question her behavior, including her croaky voice, which Richards said was due to a “bad cold”.
“Well, I’m high, but I don’t know what she is,” fellow Housewife Erika Jayne said in a confessional. “But she’s on another level.” Cast members Garcelle Beauvais and Dorit Kemsley also said they noticed that Richards was acting differently. “Denise is slurring her words a little bit. Maybe Denise had a drink before she came because she was nervous,” Beauvais said in a confessional. Kemsley added, “I don’t know what Denise is partaking in, but I don’t want some right now.”
In the episode, Richard probed Jayne about how their friendship soured given that they seemingly liked each other in the beginning. “I do have a question for you,” Richards asked across the dinner table. “You and I, the first time I met you, you were so sweet and so lovely, and then a year later, it was a different dynamic.”
Jayne said she didn’t know what Richards was talking about because she “didn’t feel anything personal.” But Richards wasn’t satisfied. “No. You know what I’m talking about,” she replied. “I’m asking you, what did I do to you?” Jayne asked for further clarification, which Richards was happy to provide.
Not only was there discussion among the RHOBH cast, but social media lit up as well. “Denise Richard’s [sic] was a HOT F***ING MESS tonight,” one person tweeted. “I love denise richards… but my sis looks CRAZY,” another wrote. “I think it’s safe to assume that Denise Richards got her pre-party on. I’m fully here for it though,” another observed.
In 2020, Richards faced claimed she was “on drugs” during an episode of the RHOBH when fans were alarmed by her blood-shot eyes. “Was Denise Richards high or had she been crying on the #RHOBHReunion? Her eyes are red,” one viewer noticed. “Denise’s eyes were extremely red and her entire look was crazy. I want to like her but she’s coming off so sloppy,” another speculated.
Such was the frenzy that Richards took to social media herself to explain that she was having an allergic reaction to her makeup. “I am allergic to powder, I’ve tried so many. I hate it. As soon as it’s used on my face, my eyes get bright red immediately. And my nose runs (so lovely). At first, drops help but as the day goes on, nothing does,” she said.
“If anyone knows of a makeup powder that could help please please let me know. On this production in Spain they even had to switch to cream shadows and blotting paper. Any make up artist that has worked with me & still works with me knows this about me & we would love any input on this.” When one fan said they thought Denise was “allergic to the bulls—t” from her cast mates, to which she agreed and said it was “maybe that too.”
