Spoilers ahead for Squid Game Season 3. It’s finally the end. Squid Game Season 3 brings in the final punch.
In case you don’t remember, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) re-enters the game after winning Squid Game as a way to shut down the games once and for all. He makes alliances and foes with the new players. Season 2 ends with the tragic death of his best friend Jung-bae, who was stabbed by the Front Man. The remaining players face the doll Young-hee again and her companion Chul-su when they’re met for a deadly game that wipes a lot of them out.

As for what to expect from this season’s deadly games, Squid Game creator Hwang Do-Hyuck mentioned the metaphor to Entertainment Weekly. “In the case of season 3, I wanted to introduce games that could really show the lowest bottom of human beings, because the series itself is reaching its climax,” Hwang said. “I wanted very intense games to bring out the bottom parts of human nature. In season 1, we had lots of games like Tug of War that really utilized height and the fear that this height gives, but in the case of season 2, we didn’t have that element. That is why in season 3, I decided to introduce games that could really infuse fear in people with sheer height.”
So, who fell to their demise in the final season?
Player 044 Seon-nyu (Chae Kook-hee) took reins in the game as a shaman and had an ever-growing following during her time in the games. She’s killed when Min-su (Lee David), who is hallucinating while popping one of Thanos’ pills, thinks she’s Nam-gyu (Roh Jae-won).
Player 120 Cho Hyun-ju (Park Sung-hoon) leveled up and helped protect the players with her Special Forces training. She ended up taking the role of protecting two vulnerable women Geum-ja (Kang Ae-shim) and Jun-hee (Jo Yu-ri) from knife attacks during Hide and Seek. However, when it came to nearly completing the challenge and opening the door with the keys, she went back to save the others but was stabbed by Myung-gi (Im Si-wan).
After the death of his best friend Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan), Gi-hun searches high and low for Dae-ho (Kang Ha-neul), who, in his eyes, betrayed their alliance. An angered Gi-hun strangles him to death during Hide and Seek as the player mutters, “It’s your fault.”
Park Yong-sik (Yang Dong-geun) entered the game so that he could clear his debt, but found that his mother Geum-ja (Kang Ae-shim) was also in the game so that she could help out with his losses. The two bonded together in Season 2 and he offers to protect his mother in the Hide and Seek game by switching to the killer role. However, he got cold feet when given the chance to kill people— including his mother, Jun-hee and her newborn. When he’s given the chance to kill them, his mother stops him from killing the new mom and her child by stabbing her son.
After feeling guilt-ridden by killing her son and begging the remaining players to stop the game so that Jun-hee and her daughter could live, Geum-ja hangs herself as a last resort.
During the final game of Sky Squid Game, Myung-gi (Lee David) convinced the team to go against Min-su for his drug hallucinations. Myung-gi eventually pushes him to his demise after he dreams of a vision of Se-mi.
Before the jump rope game, Jun-hee’s ankle was injured, and she decided to self-sacrifice in the game. She asks the remaining players to take care of her newborn baby, and gives some of the most badass last words of any person in the game directed at her ex Myeong-gi: “That baby has nothing to do with trash like you.” Her newborn baby replaces her as Player 222.
Captain Park (Oh Dal-su) was working as a double agent for In-ho when his brother had proceeded with operations to shut down the island. Woo-seok (Jeon Seok-ho) later caught on that he was siding with the Front Man, and shot the captain with a harpoon after he realized Jun-ho’s team had suspicions.
Nam-gyu (Roh Jae-won) thrived in the game by being Thanos’ right-hand man. However, his drug addiction led to his demise when Min-su throws the drugs off and Nam-gyu falls to his death.
Im Jeong-dae (Song Young-chan) was a master manipulator in the game as a businessman. However his negotiation tactics proved to be weak during Sky Squid Game and he was pushed off the platform by Myeong-gi.
The Youtuber (Im Si-Wan), his baby, and Gi-hun were the last people standing in the game. After threatening to kill them both in the game, the two fell off the platform during Sky Squid Game and Myung-gi fell to his death.
Seong Gi-hun was the one who started it all and went back into the games. In an attempt to save Jun-hee’s newborn baby, he sacrificed himself for her. He won’t be the second winner of Squid Game again, but instead, the baby is declared the winner.
By the final scene, the Front Man goes to Los Angeles to drop off Gi-hun’s belongings to his estranged daughter. She seems resentful for her father leaving, but accepts his stuff which includes his leftover winnings. The Front Man sees a woman (Cate Blanchett) who plays ddakji with a homeless man, hinting towards the future of American Squid Game.
