Monica and Joey seemed to match each other’s energy from the beginning. They were the first couple to get engaged in the pods, and they didn’t seem to ever really consider anyone else. That’s usually a good sign when it comes to getting married afterward, though it’s not a certainty. But, considering they were the first couple to get engaged and the first six episodes of the show didn’t get past the pods, that also means we’ve seen very little of them existing together—other than their very adorable first meeting.

If anyone this season gave us good vibes, it was these two. But they also gave good vibes in more of a great friend’s way than anything, which was a problem. Ultimately that might have been what doomed them because a look at the marriage certificates filed in Minnesota indicates these two did not get hitched.
Daniel and Taylor

Daniel and Taylor already started on the wrong foot, after Taylor’s suspicions that Daniel had previously followed her on Instagram and knew what she looked like all along. For any other couple, that might have been a deal-breaker or at least something that stayed on the back of her mind for the duration of the experiment. These two, however, seem to have not just gotten over it but gotten stronger from whatever conversations they have after this Instagram Christmas photo drama.

Marriage records from the state of Minnesota indicate the two got married at the end of the experiment, so it seems that when it’s right, it’s right and you can get through anything.
Sara and Ben

Status: Reportedly did not get married

Sara and Ben gave red flags from the beginning. She seemed to have to convince herself that he could change and learn to be the kind of person she wanted to be with, which was a very bad sign, and he tried to claim he could change without putting any work into it. Not at all what you want out of a marriage. The truth is, they seemed to be very far apart on a lot of fundamental values, and those are the kinds of things you really cannot compromise on with someone you want to get married to.

All those things considered, it’s not surprising to report that marriage records indicate these two did not get married. Now we just hope Sara was the one who got to say no.
Lauren and Dave

Status: Reportedly did not get married

Lauren and Dave felt kind of inevitable at one point, and yet they had some moments in the pods where it didn’t seem like things were actually going to end up materializing. This made us go into the engagement with some big questions. Of course, things going smoothly in the pods isn’t a guarantee that things will go smoothly later, but if there are already issues when the two people in the relationship aren’t even seeing each other, what might come out later?

We don’t yet know what other big thing could come between them, but marriage records indicate the two did not get married. So whatever it is, it seems like it was enough to have them parting ways.
Virginia and Devin

Virginia and Devin gave good friends more than anything at every point during the show. And even during their first meeting, it was hard to tell if they could pair that with good chemistry that would allow them to build the kind of relationship they both wanted. Friendship isn’t the worst foundation, but it cannot all be friendship.

It seems like that foundation wasn’t enough for them, as marriage records indicate the two did not get married at the end of the experiment. It was a rough season, what can we say?
